  1. I hear you. A buddy's godfather went through the ice when he was twelve. At eighty, he still has issues resulting from it.
  2. You know, personally I'm bothered by the private policies but it's probably stopped at least some idiots from getting ammo, at least temporarily. There used to be an open public range/gun shop south of here and the range master would occasionally spot-check pistol permits. He's braver than I am - you'd see guys bolt out of there ahead of the check, dropping gear on the way. I miss Creekside - even took my grandfather there. He served in WWII and got a huge kick out of the vintage military long guns.
  3. Then most follow with "...which had a combat-style flash suppressor." like it means something. I saw one that stated it hides the flash from an observer (it doesn't) and two sentences later, repeated the emergency radio report from an observer saying he could see the muzzle flash coming straight at him.
  4. Same deal when they dropped carrying handguns years ago. Just a bunch of lawyers worried about liability suits.
  5. This one's plucked
  6. Merry Christmas, Hank. God bless us, everyone.
  7. Amen. I grew up less than two miles from there and know that fire hall well. Pray for the families...
  8. Mine's on backorder - wife ordered me a Victorinox Cimeter! She'll never help me clean salmon again though. Last season she offered and almost lost her lunch ...

  10. Make alternate plans if you wanted to hit IBay today: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20121224/NEWS01/312240026/2-firefighters-killed-2-wounded-Webster-blaze
  11. Welcome. I was on your side of the world recently - wish I could have gone fishing!

  13. Not surprised Dick's jumped at dropping any AR type rifle in their stores. They make more of a profit selling other merchandise.
  14. Hey there, Greg. Sorry about your father; I lost mine as well a few years back.
  15. Someone posted these guys last season & it looks like they're still the least expensive: http://northwoodsoutlet.net/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=78_241_250&product_id=790
  16. Hope to participate in this one. Won't have a pesky job tying me down anymore (as of Friday).
  17. I'll be hunting Wayne County in the morning but I've never crossed paths with a buck that looks like these brutes. Nice job!
  18. I'm on XP with IE here and can still see them. Must be a security setting on your end (guessing you need to enable ActiveX controls) - send Chad a PM (user id is "BlueEye") and ask to be sure.
  19. I haven't tried the tips but we ran both of their wires this season with zero issues.
  20. I'm sorry for your loss; I lost my father as well a few years ago. I'd hoped to meet your father at some point since I wound up buying a pair of his old fishing poles but never got the opportunity. Good luck.
  21. You, I believe. Wish you'd gotten a good photo, though.
  22. Cool - Christmas present!
  23. I've been out with Jolly a numer of times. He guts them, removes the gills, gives them a rinse and puts them back in the cooler. I keep meaning to do the same on our boat but never get around to it...
  24. ELOSTA, based out of Syracuse, meets monthly and offers regular seminars as well.
