    I want to jig up one of these Lake Ontario guys: The king got grilled last night for dinner. Came out perfect marinaded in spiedie sauce for an hour, grilled over hot coals for seven minutes and switched to indirect heat (covered) for 15.

    I noticed an occasional moment of lucidity - and proper spelling. It's like talking to someone with an accent and realizing it disappears every once in a while. He's obviously forgotten more about this fishing than I've learned yet. I hope I get the chance to introduce myself and say "Hello" in person eventually.

    Picked up my first - a magnum glow Bloody Nose from Gander. Someone cleaned them out of carbon 14s, the only other one I recognized.

    I've never gone wrong staying at a KOA camp & I've used them coast to coast, all the way around Lake Ontario and down to southern Florida.

    There's a few eastern posts from this weekend about a heavy 3mph west downcurrent playing havoc with the trolling speeds...

    Good meeting you at Gander yesterday. We spent the afternoon retying our wire rods and loading all the downrigger rods with 30lb Big Game to try to avoid the fleas. With any luck, we'll get out this afternoon.

    We had to threaten Jolly to get him to land one on his own boat. Turned out to be the first of the year he'd caught himself - a drawback to being an active charter captain

    There's been some discussion recently but no reports. Consensus seems to be that they're there, staging deeper than you'd expect and feeding heavily on gobies these days.
