  1. You posted the same exact question last Wednesday.
  2. I went to the ELOSTA meeting a couple months ago (and joined) and they gave Lester the floor for a few minutes. He obviously cares passionately about the kids, was humble to a fault and spoke a little about the Shane Zimmerman Memorial Big Fish Award.
  3. If the fish are shy, running your spoons far behind the boat may get you action, but I think 300 feet is farther than necessary. If the fish are aggressive, they'll hit a spoon right in your wake, on the surface, six feet from the back of the boat. Spoons fished far behind or on boards are a stealth presentation. Flasher/fly combos (or dipsies) are the opposite - they catch a lot of light and put a lot of vibration in the water. They don't have to be far from the boat to be effective (but still can be).
  4. Anything that handles MPEG 4, anything rated for burning Blueray. I've got Roxio Creator but I don't really burn anything - I'll check the specs.
  5. no backing needed.
  6. Someone mentioned them up earlier this year. The inventor was actually on this forum briefly, prior to coming in on a fishing trip.
  7. I'll always have a soft spot for Yuengling. Spent the Pennsylvania blizzard of '99 at a fire hall in Pottsville, drinking free Yuengling and playing pool until 5am. They got two feet of snow overnight - troopers blocked 81 and escorted us off the highway, declared a state of emergency, called out the National Guard to rescue stranded travelers...
  8. You used to be able to walk the railroad tracks in Charlotte down below River Heights , look down at the river and spot them. Walked through there on the new boardwalk a few weeks ago and didn't see any.
  9. I've been reading good things about this: https://www.torpedodivers.com/scart/pro ... mNum=P0010 Worth checking out...
  10. Short answer is both are very popular but preferred length (7' up to 10') up for debate. Either will do you well.
  11. A bunch from Western Mass as well. I didn't realize how far people were driving to fish Lake Ontario until I joined the site.
  12. Sounds like a blast. Can't wait to get back out!
  13. That's a pig! I've never seen one that size that wasn't the southern strain. And I want a Yuengling fly vest...
  14. Forever Young is a 1979 18' Starcraft open bow deep V with a 120 hp outboard - I feel your pain. I don't see either of us trying solo in more than a one foot chop; 3-4 footers are what sent us flying for port past Jolly a few weeks ago.
  15. How about 6 type II's?: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=31665&p=193708&hilit=type+I#p193708
  16. She managed to say "I like my meat hard..." without laughing. Props
  17. Nice work with the multiple-camera editing. Looks great. I'd be nervous just being on the boat with that Canon, let alone mounting it to a kayak. The results are terrific though - keep it up.
  18. I still had this bookmarked from the reading I was doing last season. It's pretty informative: http://www.lowrance.com/Support/Tips-an ... -Tutorial/
  19. Nice job. That's good info - I'll have to remember that.
  20. One of the guys was telling me he had just rigged a new wire pole and then had a tree catch the swivel and spool him on the way home. I just want to avoid ever having to tell my wife how I lost $50 - $100 worth of gear - I'd never get her out of the makeup store.
  21. We ran 10 lb cannon balls last weekend off Sandy Creek and had crazy blowback running southeast, so bad I thought the releases had tripped. We haven't had the cables cross but we run them at 45 degrees rather than straight back.
  22. There's a couple locals that feel the need for speed - cars, boats and bikes. I used to work with one of the guys and I hunt halfway up the hill above West Lake Rd. When it gets cold in the fall, the lake traffic clears out and they start racing their boats - goes from peaceful to deafening REAL fast.
