  1. Looks like he might have sold out (Precision Trolling: Big water edition) Wednesday: http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/sh ... p?t=195499 www.thefishinhole.com has the Pro Edition (for crankbaits) for $50. I don't know where you're located but the Gander Mountain in Henrietta had a single copy on the shelf a week ago for $30 - might be worth a call.
  2. Yeah, just searched - nothing since that specific thread. I'll be in the Netherlands this summer and would love to get some fishing in while I'm there. Here's hoping
  3. Very cool, Mark. Thanks for posting it.
  4. As long as you're there, stop at the vineyard shop and buy a bottle of wine for dinner.
  5. That would explain why I keep seeing one Moonshine spoon (Ratchet Jaw?) on your reports. Figured you must be one of their sponsored captains. I'm interested in how you do - I hope to learn how to catch more fish with less gear.
  6. Yep - same photo made the rounds last year. Real fish - wrong location.
  7. Welcome. Changed from salmon to sharks, didn't you?
  8. Try looking up "VK Salmon 2 flashers". They're sort of Spin Doctor - looking...
  9. That's a shame. Last year I compiled the data from the various "favorite spoons" threads here to give me an idea of what to shop for and it looks like 39% are theirs. I haven't bought that many yet so at least I can shift to brands that don't disintegrate.
  10. It's a great resource - I'm in the middle of rereading it, actually; I have both books and their companion dvds. They aren't going to replace Romanack's Precision Trolling reference charts though - Keatings books don't provide that level of detail. Precision Trolling I (for crankbaits) is still available - I found it online yesterday for $20. Precision Trolling II - Big Water Edition is pretty much gone, although I found one guy on a Walleye forum with a few copies for $65. Fishing 411 (Romanack's site) says that they have a phone app coming in June but provides no detail yet.
  11. I have but it's been many years. Very restful when the weather cooperates.
  12. Love the name of your boat. Sounds like a tavern I'd be drinking pints in
  13. App available in June supposedly: http://www.fishing411.net/index.html I've only found one person with a few of the books available - for $65. I'll wait for the app, especially since I've read there were some printing errors in the book.
  14. Now I understand. We were talking about a spot about four hours to the west of there. You'll want to look at the reports for Oswego, Mexico Bay and Henderson. The good news is the fishing for them has been very good - good luck
  15. Sorry, when you said you're heading up this weekend, did you have a location in mind? You wouldn't go by "Wing", would you?
  16. Sorry - we're referring to Sandy Creek on the west side in Hamlin NY. NyGregg and I are both in Irondequoit, on the east side of Rochester. Sandy Creek on the east side of the lake is more like Oswego / Mexico Bay.
  17. The 18' Starcraft I fish from is set up like Salmonite & Has Been describe. Works well and easily removed - sorry there's no close up shots.
  18. Now I know why that Tuxedo we ran on your boat last season had half the paint missing. I thought it was just from all the fish caught on it.
  19. All kinds of info in that case. Check the Sandy Creek threads for specifics there but Olcott west sounds like it's been insane.
  20. We're in the same boat I think ERABBIT is right, although I'd love to see some more opinions. We get set up (riggers & planer boards) and get our speed to about 2.2 gps. Waves (haven't had flat day yet this season) will vary that up or down by about .2 so we'll bounce between 2.0 & 2.4. If we're marking fish, we'll goose it a bit every once in a while trying to dial in a speed they like, then a bait they like. When you get to the end of your troll and reverse, you have to start all over again because of the current. We're catching fish but I'd say at maybe half the rate of an experienced boat with all the gear. I'm hoping that improves considerably when we can afford to add down speed.
  21. Nice job, as always, The ones we caught Saturday were spitting fish too.
