When you say planer line, do you mean that the reel mounted on your planer mast is spooled with heavy mono?

We trolled to the state park and back with one hit to show for it, spoons on riggers & two sticks per planer. Note to self - put your net together BEFORE you have to land a fish. If you're going to make a silly mistake, do it in a fog bank. Running with no visibility, we had difficulty keeping a steady bearing even with gps and a compass. My first time in heavy fog and I'm not a fan. Settled for some interesting photos and called it a day before we lost the sun.

We just added Titelock triples to an 18ft Starcraft. Make sure the mounting point you choose will give you enough separation from the riggers to get at everything when running fully loaded and net a fish from the side if needed.

That's about the size of the brown that took a Chicken Wing on us yesterday. Sure wish it had made it in the boat.

Yep, should be fine. I got a Okuma Convector 30D trolling combo from Cabela's because I had a gift card - would have been a bit cheaper from FishUSA but cost me cash. Give it a try and if you remember, let me know what you think of the roller rod. I've only used one in salt water.
