  1. Heard the same yesterday from a buddy - guy saw an eight point on the property, still with his antlers.
  2. Just posted the first fishing report for "Forever Young". Hope to try Sandy tomorrow afternoon.
  3. We had a good April 30th last season: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=24058&p=138686#p138686
  4. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ==============Forever Young Waves: Surface Temp: 42 degrees Location: I-Bay to Webster Park LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated: 1 Species Breakdown: Browns Hot Lure: Michigan Stinger Chicken Wing & Orange Tranny Trolling Speed:gps 2.1 mph Down Speed: unknown Boat Depth: 15 fow eastbound, 25 - 30 fow westbound Lure Depth: 12 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Water flat & perfectly clear, could pick out a pebble at thirty feet and nothing on sonar all day. Both fish were in 25 fow, trolling westbound between Webster Park and Shipbuilders. Brown that took starboard chicken wing was foul hooked on outside of mouth and collected half our gear before it threw the hook at the side of the boat, as we tried to net it. Biggest I've seen so far (I'm new) - same size as a 20lb Chinook I caught last year. The one we boated was a shaker we found as we pulled lines for the day. Stickbaits did nothing all day. I'll take it for a shakedown cruise on a 77 degree March 18th.
  5. You can definitely use it for wire dipsies. Search the old threads here for specifics but opinion seems split between using a twilly tip vs. a good roller tip. I'm rigging a pole for wire dipsy use as well but I'm going with a twilly tip and 7 strand torpedo wire.
  6. Preach! Three herniated disks last year...
  7. I like it. In twenty years, we can weld rocket launchers to our walkers and bolt them to the deck.
  8. The pier you're familiar with is at the Irondequoit Bay channel. If you head west, you have the Summerville pier on the east side of the Genesee River and directly across, the Charlotte pier. Browns are possible from any at this point, best at dawn or dusk - haven't seen any reports lately about how active though. Use casting spoons or stickbaits. Good luck.
  9. You picked the right year for it. Welcome aboard.
  10. You know, I've read that but I've eaten spring laker and it was delicious. Could be a seasonal thing, maybe, like spawning salmon? I know a lot of people love smoking a few lakers each season. There's a thread here somewhere that said spring coho is the best eating fish you can catch. Maybe I'll stage a taste test this year and compare all six species...
  11. We haven't gotten into lead or copper yet and I like that they'll give us more delivery options without having to first spring for another rod/reel combo. I still need to get a couple pairs of Or-16 releases to use with them, though.
  12. I'm trying the Snapper and the Shark, the smaller two, this season. Depth charts are here: http://www.torpedodivers.com/charts.asp#2-6
  13. Cool - thanks, Rob. I think we'll try out of I-Bay this Sunday and the next time, we can hit Sandy.
  14. It's the same here - but discussed often: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=29242&hilit=mercury Personally, mercury poisoning's gonna have to wait in line...
  15. Cool - $5 off two spools of Big Game might come in handy for someone. Deals listed here: http://www.fishusa.com/Promotions_c.html for sixteen different brands, including Berkley.
  16. Bailing, puking or squatting? Nevermind - I'm afraid to find out.
  17. http://www.northwoodsoutlet.com/ Nice price on Okuma Convectors as well...
  18. Really cool. Check out the striper video...
  19. lol - No problem. If the weather cooperates, we're hoping to hit the water on the 24th. Hope to see you out there...
