  1. Really? Does the flavor change along with the color shift? I think I've only had one from a run but that was out of the Salmon River last year. I didn't catch it so I don't know how far up the river it had gone.
  2. I did offer, even though Landshark originally said he didn't want to split them. I can respect that.
  3. Any they're catching in the mouth are on their way up the river, just haven't seen many results posted. Considering the weather forecast, you'd do better staying away from the mouth in a kayak this weekend anyway. Give it a shot upstream if the weather cooperates and let us know what you find. Tight lines.
  4. I'd head down just to check that out but you wouldn't catch me on the piers in it!
  5. Postings sounds like they're being caught off the piers hit or miss on casting spoons or drifted egg sacks. If the wind and current don't create a problem for you in your kayak, you could definitely catch some. Do you have lights, flag pole, etc... for increased visibility? The Friday night boating crowd can be a problem if you're anywhere near the bars.
  6. Not that I've seen, although it looks like they might be hitting Webster this weekend. We saw porpoising fish Monday night all around the docks the sheriffs use and couldn't get a single hit either. With this rain, I hope to make the rounds this weekend and find a few.
  7. You could make a fortune with a pair of waders and a metal detector with that rocky bottom.
  8. Monster carp along the eastern wall, sucker runs up the creek, trout that never seemed to hit anything, rock bass off the base of the pier - we were just kids so they were all good. Moved to Webster in '76 & most previous fishing was tagging along at Seth Green or off the pier at Charlotte (or summers on Florida panhandle). Big difference.
  9. Back problems. I can still draw and shoot a 70# bow but just walking and standing have been rough. At the rate it's healing, I may have to wait for next season.
  10. Interested to see your results. We used to catch practically anything off the pier there in the eighties, then the bite seemed to die off in the nineties. I haven't dropped a line there in at least ten years.
  11. I have a pair of 209s that I believe will hold 320 yards of 20# test. That gear ratio will kill you on lead though - 3.1 to 1.
  12. Much better than a day at work. Nice job.
  13. Glad you had some success. I also caught my first salmon trolling this year and it was a blast.
  14. I've never had an issue but it's good to know they still stand behind their older products. Thank you.`
  15. Buddy of mine caught his first salmon last night - in the mouth of Sandy Creek, drifting an egg sack out of his 9 ft kayak.
