Im about to purchase a 97 Penn Yan Rage. I dont know much about these boats in general and i was just wondering if you guys had some good/ bad info! Its got 150 hours and appears to be in good shape. i live on Seneca and fish both smallies and pike. I have fished them for years and have discovered that both species have pretty significant number changes from year to year. Pike were abundent about four or five years ago and this season you cant catch one fishing all day. The same with smallies. Although i usually catch the bass every year during the spawn, this year was by far the worst. I saw maybe ten or less spawning beds. I believe that disease plkays a big role in this change. As the pike or bass numbers rise the species is more vulnerable to disease and when it hits it wipes out large numbers. Then the species has to build itself back up. Thats my thoughts!!

Myself and my brother did some deep sea fishing out of MoreHead City N. Carolina last weekend. We fished aboard the "Sudden Impact" fishing charters about 45 miles off shore. The fishing was awesome! We trolled the gulf stream for pretty much anything that hit our giant plugs. We caught albacore tuna, amberjacks, wahoos, and mahi mahi. We trolled for everything but the amber jacks. We did some vertical jiggin for the jacks and for those who havent fished for these jacks its crazy to say the least. These fish have incredible power and really pull! The wahoo was about 5 foot long and weighed about 65 pounds. The amber jacks range from 25-45 pounds. The fishing was fast and furious and the weather was beautiful!
