  7. Did it a bunch of times on private boats, charter teams, and consistent high placing tourney teams. Learned something every trip out. Like others have said, there will be teams posting here looking for observers.
  8. Depends if you plan on catching a lot of big fish or a few little fish
  9. Looking for a sg47lca or sg47lcb. Bonus points if it already has Tuna's power handle.
  10. There's always fish to catch

  12. I use his 12# with the same riggers. If I want to do deeper than 130ish, I throw on the 16#ers
  13. It's mid-Feb and just starting(ish) to get ice coverage, and quite later than normal. I can't imagine the ice will get too thick. Taking a peek at the future temps, looks to be a slight warmup after the weekend.

  16. If I buy the 6mm or 257 bob, dies, i'll have an excuse to buy a new rifle.....
  17. We had good luck this year with 10" flashers with longer leads on meat or flies. One more thing to add to the arsenal
  18. x5 on mix. I have yet to go through my logs from last year to see which put more fish on the boat. Like reelintense mentioned, more variables than just type of flasher

  21. I own Tract, Leupold and NF. You will have to be lucky to find a used NF at $500. Not impossible, but not likely. My Tract has been nice. Good glass for the money, BUT I wasn't impressed with its high magnification clarity. I find myself backing off a bit for a better picture (sounds goofy, I know). If you are going to set it and forget it, go with Leupold. For $500, you can find some good used loopy deals. Years ago, I had a Vortex PST, 4-16x50. I would use my VX-3i to spot the holes in the paper when I couldn't see them with the Vortex.......sold the PST shortly thereafter as there were better options in that price range. Take a look at Zeiss. Should be able to get their Conquest line used at your price,
  22. I switched from some OOOLLLDDD Shimano Triton rods that were getting a little beat up to Okuma Blue Diamonds (medium/moderate) and couldn't be happier.
