A friend of mine gets it really bad also and I told him about some wrist bands available everywhere but he got his at Walmart. And now he swears by them and will not get on the boat without them. I guess they press on a pressure point in your wrist. I can tell u he hardly ever has a problem now and if he does it's cause he went in the cuddy to get something

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts/ opinion are on the black boxes. I have heard many people tell me they swear by it and have seen there rigger hits more than double since installing it. I have read their web site and found out that each boat carries its own charge be it positive or negative. They even tell you how to go about determining what your boat has as a charge. I've even heard of people having brass blocks in their boat to " absorb" the negative charges put of by the boat and it's electronically equipment. My riggers catch fish but it has me wondering if I would catch more if I hook one up to the boat/riggers. Just wondering if anyones uses one currently or has any input as to how/ why they work and if they believe it to be worth it. Has it made a difference? Thanks boys!

Tried in tight also and all we got were lake trout and browns. I'm not saying it can't be done in any way shape or form, but it is tuff out there at the moment. It's nice to get out anyways and relax but this spring we got spoiled with a strong early showing of kings. No doubt they are coming back in force just not fast enough
-
Nope. They are still "gone". Went out this morning and went right to 600ish flow and worked in to 100fow. Got one really nice king in about 400ish on flasher fly " hammer time" and two lake trout when we got to 100 flow on spoons. Two very well known charter boats out of Oswego only caught a few browns and bass. The other only caught one king and that was it for him. At $800 a day I'd be bumming if I was those customers . Anyhow temp was down around 65-80 depending how much water I was over. Very little bait. Waiting for the good days to return!

Been fishing out of oswego and doing well up until two weeks ago. I know Oswego doesn't usually get a good showing of kings till aug and sept but this place just shut right down. Where did they go? I know it's temp related but just curious when people think they will show back up? And if anyone could shed some light on what the various wind directions do to the temps and breaks in the lake would be great. I know that pretty broad but just looking for the basic idea. Cold water on top/bottom and what various winds take them

Anybody have a pic of the tropical thunder spoon? I heard they aren't made anymore but are a must have. I'm not sure who even makes them because the guy I heard about them from wont even show it to me let alone let me have one or know who made it. Just wondering what the paint/tape pattern is

Fished today amenities was a grind for most in fat Nancy tourney. Temp was way up to start the day(down 65') and didn't mark much bait or sharks. Its a tough bite right now [ Post made via Android ]

Just wondering what everybody else has their rope lengths set at for the front and back ropes? I've heard 9" for the front and 11" for the back as well as 9" and 13". Just want to get maximum pulling power out of them and not sure which is better. I am also setting them up with double keels. One has the full size keel weight the other has the "half keel" weight. Any preferences there or opinions on keel weights? I've heard to not run both weights cause they will sink. Don't know how true that is just what I've heard is all. Any ideas on these matters?

Cannon Dual Axis Adjustable Rod Holders rubber ends
Second Nature replied to ERABBIT's topic in Tackle and Techniques
buy a two part epoxy kit from lowes or some hardware store. mix up about 1oz of the stuff which is more than enough to do every rod holder on the boat. smear the mix around the inside of the cap then press it on. it wont happen again! just tip the rod holder upside down over night to keep any excess from running down the side of the rod holder while it dries. cannon needs to fix this problem, mine did it the first day i used them and i lost one right off the bat! annoyed to say the least -
dipsey diver settings
Second Nature replied to Second Nature's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
anybody out there on this -
running 30# wire i know the ratio on a 2.5-3 setting is 3 to1 for every 3 feet of line out it will dive 1 foot. but what about on a 1 setting? i have lost the chart and am gonna try running 2 divers per side in the am and need a refresher before i get my first tangle lol! some say its crazy but ive talk to alot of guys that do it and they say its really not that bad and to just watch the turns. After all it seems my wires take more fish than riggers( most days) so why not run more wires especially since i cant afford more riggers. why not? ill give it a try and hope for the best. any ideas on 1-1.5 setting ratio would be sweet or any advise on doubling up on my dipseys. thanks

i just bought 4 new tekota 600lc for my wire rods and tested mine in the yard. i live in the country so my yard is actually over 100 yards wide which is 300 feet. my line counters were right on the money!!!!!!! literally to the foot!!! i have a lazer range finder for hunting i used to measure the distance. i did just respool all 4 reels with 30# afw wire. its thinner (.013) than most 30# wire (at .015)and when the reels are full the counter is most accurate. so make sure your full on the reels for the counters to actually do what they are supposed to. its good to check these things and do as much homework as possible before going out and dragging lines around and catchin a big zero! just my 2 cents

How hard is replacing the discs? I have no idea how its done but am definetly interested. Difficult? I have taken reels apart in the past but have had zero luck putting the back together. Gears springs washers and bearings. Uhggggg! [ Post made via Android ]

yup. there is a long pin that joins the two together. just unscrew it and away you go

Running 4 Wires
Second Nature replied to snichols's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I don't run mono on my divers. Just thought the difference in wire diameter from 20# to 30 # would help keep them seperate. [ Post made via Android ] -
Running 4 Wires
Second Nature replied to snichols's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
ok. im understanding the different settings and maybe even different length rods to help keep lines seperate when running two per side but what about 20# vs 30# wire. i know 20# isnt ideal with fleas but once they die down wouldnt it help to run 20# on the low diver to help with getting deeper than the 30# outside diver which should be shallower? just trying to keep them as separate as possible. is this over kill? some say i should run the same pound wire on both diver rods to get the best separation between divers. any thoughts? -
how do u guys prefer to store your dipsy divers and leaders. i have been wrapping my leaders fairly lightly around the dipsy itself but am not really happy about doing it. seems as i am getting very light kink marks were the line goes over the edges of the divers. ive heard of some kind of diver sleeve thats made out of rubber that u put dipsy into then wrap the leader around that. sounds really good but know idea where to get them. any ideas?

oh yah great article. but the feature brown pic is the same trout in two of the pics. look at the dot pattern on head. im mean come on, at least put different fish in the article not just different faces holding the same fish.
