If you pull the head off, take it to Farmer Engineering in Webster, the're a machine shop that deals with that kind of stuff all the time. They can repair the threads or install a heli-coil. No problem.
Yes Pan, It's official!
We received the letter last week from Albany stating that the record is ours!!!!
The fish was so big and out of proportion, the taxidermist had to make a mold from the actual fish and then do a replica from that. It should last a lot longer than a skin mount.
I don't know about the other guys but the fish are still there, in fact last week I had an evening where I lost count somewhere in the twenty's in a couple hours, ...It was a true bloodbath. Some days they like trolled lures, some days casting. We haven't even tried live bait because they smack lures so easily. Its a banner year allright, its the best action I've ever seen.
Oh yeah, I posted some pics in the Picture thread.
Persistence does pay off, besides, the walleye bite generally doesn't start in Ibay until mid July anyway.
After six weeks of nothing but Drum, we finally hooked up with this fatty this morning. It was fat as a football and hit a Shadrap trolled in 35fow. just over 5lbs! It's on.
We actually were accused off putting a downrigger ball down its throat , but it was mostly just fat and meat. The taxidermist said it was sort of deflated the next day when he took it out of the cooler.
We're still killing 'em out there too. I must've landed over twenty yesterday evening, they completely destroyed a brand new Shadrap, it was a true bloodbath.
All in good fun Panfisher, and Yup, It was in IBay,it wouldn't stop floating/following me around so I Had to leave that spot. Seriously, we've actually hooked two zombies in the bay recently, one was a perch on a minnow and a one was a whitey on a spoon! They smell horrible but the meat just falls off the bone.
Tried again today and only had one walleye at the boat, unfortunately for me it was a ZOMBIE walleye!
It came floating past the boat, and the damn thing must've weighed at least 12lbs when it was healthy, and still alive.
*WARNING, stop reading now if you hate Sheepsheads*
The zombie 'eye may have scared off the sheepshead too as the bite was real slow for them also, only three today whilst trolling with walleye lures. Anybody want to start a forum just for Drum?
Fish were everywhere last night and feeding on these little guys!!!!!!!
Couldn't get the eyeballs to commit though, but we had a blast on the Sheepsheads!
Thanks Pan!
Now I'm a Sheep Head too.
We may hire you to be the narator for our new fishing show thats about to be released this fall! ....more details to follow, fellow SHEEP-HEADS!
