There were a few pike in the creek yesterday according to my scout, but not a lot of big ones. It may be a little early still, that could change any day..
We'll be at Conesus for the opening weekend looking for the state record walleye with Pikefreak and crew. South end all weekend.
Justracytrolling, the pike are in the creek now, Walleyes should follow soon!
Good luck everyone!

CR1,.......upon further analysis, the jury is still out on the bait ID. We're taking this one back to court this coming weekend, so be prepared.
Spank and I hope everyone slays the walleye on this "last ditch effort" before the season closes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We Spent last weekend in Cleveland again and did pretty good on the walleye. Lots of small ones and a few good fish mixed in too. This one had a 12" shad in its mouth!

OK, this is starting to look like fun!
First off iI have to thank you otisco guys for all the helpfull info you post. You turned me onto the snap weight method and trolling styles that paid off for us over here.
We fish walleye year round but I love night fishing in the summer, trolling, casting, mostly in I. Bay and the river ( Rochester) but Otisco has always been on my bucket list so.........we're in!
Back to the ice though for now, fish on!

Yeah KS,
He's OK now but we definately saved him from burning to death inside his shanty. 10 more seconds and it would've been much worse.
Don't give up on Oneida either, it can change by the minute. Our fish came from about 26fow.
thanks, dE\/-0
We were north of the shoal between 121 and 123, super slow bite but a lot of marks. The keepers came off the bottom 15 feet up to hit the lures. Sounds like no one did too well.
My son and I spent the weekend in Cleveland and fished a super tough bite on Shackleton shoal all three days. Ended up with three keeper eyes and eight jumbos. All fish came on 1/2 oz Kastmasters with Minnow head.
Even with the slow bite we still had an AWSOME time.
Seems like booking a charter on Erie won't help much with river or bay fishing.
The In-fisherman have good books and Walleyecentral.com has LOADS of articles
The river holds good populations of 'eyes. I. bay can be good in the summer and fall. Unfortunately shore access to both is limited, but Since you live on the river, you 're already ahead of the game!
Read up on the subject, concentrate on one or two methods to start with, put your time in and you will be rewarded, it's not easy or everyone would be doing it!
Here's a few eaters from the river this fall. Caught on 3/8 oz. jig with 3" twister tail, MH spinning gear and 15lb power-pro braided line.
Good luck!
The DEC are the ones that stocked Conesus with alewives. It was to become a trout lake but the trout they stocked dissapeared and the alewives took over. it is said to be the reason for the perch crash years ago.
I talked to a guy that fell through yesterday at the south end of Canandaigua on 3" of sketchy ice. Lucky his buddy pulled him out with a rope. This snow will mess up any little ice that formed.
