  1. There's a good walleye bite going on in Irondeqoit bay right now. We've been doing pretty good trolling stick baits and even picked up a nice brown this evening. Thank you Vets for our freedoms, Happy Memorial Day !
  2. Same thing every year at Irondequoit Bay, ...........Mother nature at work.
  3. The only tigers we ever caught on Conesus was "speed trolling", like 5 mph , with big wooden baits in the prop wash. Right down the middle of the lake. Try it.
  4. My mistake, It's called Mark's Liesure Time Marina on E. Lake rd. Conesus. 585-346-2260.
  5. Maybe try Meyer's Marina.
  6. Try West systems two-part epoxy.
  7. Here we have a single person flip over FISHTRAP. Canvas has a few holes but was used this past winter with no issues. Good starter hut. $50 Thanks, Don.
  8. Here we have seven rods in good condition. Three are surf casting, 9' and 10' long. Four are fresh water with one of them being telescopic. 40 bucks takes them all! Thanks, Don.
  9. The creek also had pike in it as of Sunday.
  10. 1-Be careful if just wearing floating bibs, you'll float upside down. 2-Don't tempt fate, unless you're 100% invincible?
  11. J-V tackle on Norton and Portland. They have a guy there that's great, and reasonable too.
  12. You prob won't hear anything either, the guys that fish for perch out in the big lake don't report at all on the websites but, yes, the perch are there if you have the boat and the electronics to find them, we just don't have big enough boats to venture into that nightmare. I'll just wait untill fall when they migrate back into the bay. It' ll be soon.
  13. The weird thing was one of the bullhead had several of these large black spots and markings on it. On the top of the head, side of the face and on one side between the dorsal fin and tail. Some of the spots were the size of a dime. Never seen anything like it. Any ideas???? Sounds like they may be coming down with a touch of the VHS! ...I was out saturday too, and didn't find any perch. I did hear a rumor that "ONEBUCKETBIGWILLIE" got into the dinks on wed. though. The surface temp in Massaug cove was 60 deg F in 3fow and it's getting real shallow up there. Lots of bait around also.
  14. Didn't look for perch yesterday, but the surface temp in the bay was 66.2 deg. F. It's getting close!
  15. 58 degrees? The surface temp was still 71.5 on Saturday, the 15th! I worked the whole bay and never saw a perch all day. It usually doesn't pick up untill the 1st of October for us though.
  16. WARNING! Everyone stop fishing for walleyes......... NOW!!!!! They taste funny. Go catch a black salmon instead! Now is the time for change! Revolt!
  17. I fog my race car motor w/ MMO before storing it for the winter. It really works. Just put some in a spray bottle and fog it 'till the exhaust starts to smoke.
  18. yeah, really.
  19. As for the Genesee, go a little further upstream and they taste just fine. Ever try one out of Conesus? !!!YUK!!!!Alwives.
  20. Found a huge school of gar feeding on the surface today over 30FOW, south of the bridge. I had a blast throwing a jigging Rap trying to land one. Had about five misses, got one in the tail, then hooked one in the corner of the mouth and all hell broke loose. Man, those things go wild when they're hooked. Lots of tail dances and drag screaming runs. Great fun and great day to be on the water.
  21. We've picked up a few in Irondequoit bay lately but the highlight was my son who landed his personal best, a 15 1/2 inch long, monster "freak of nature" perch. He caught it on a pike minnow in 10FOW, took a few pic's and then set it free to save the gene pool. I'm proud of the boy.
  22. THE FISH ARE THERE, GETTING THEM TO BITE IS ANOTHER STORY. Try worm harnesses during the day in 12-24 fow and stickbaits in shallow in the evening. I got a 4lb. and 7 1/2 lb. 'eye during the daytime last week. Using rubber worms on the harness will keep the white perch from stealing the bait.
  23. I think your " silver bass" is actually a white perch. Either way, you catch some nice fish! Keep trying bud!
  24. isn't six pounds of lead a little to much for a perch rig?
