So to un-hijack Esox's thread, and back on topic, it's been a good bite this summer in the hot weather. Two more from yesterday, crawler harnesses and not as deep as one would imagine!
My son was fishing I-Bay last week when a blowboat cut too close and tangled up our planer boards and lines, .... two bright orange Church boards with flags, spaced real tight our boat. Luckily the guy stopped when J yelled at him and got our stuff back off his rudder.
I see them in the bay all the time and 90% are rude. Most of those jerks won't even wave back when you stop trolling to let them have the right of way.
Conesus had the best perch fishing around until it was attempted at making it into a trout lake. All the trout died and the bait food (alewives) exploded and took over.
Don't try to play Mother Nature, End of story.
Well put Sk8man.
Very nice specimen FLXT! There will always be haters so don't let 'em get to you. There is a category for catch and release state records that you may qualify for too. Its in the NYS DEC regulations book.
Once again, NICE WORK BRO!!!!!!!!!
Call Martin Machine and Marine in Webster, 872-2132, boats are one of their many specialties,
Dan Martin is "the man" to talk to! Ask him what size motor is in HIS personal ski boat!!!!!!...and tell him DEvo sent ya.
Nice work Bosco!
I haven't been out in a long time but my son has been getting a lot of pike this year in the Bay. Some up to 15lbs. He even had a big one take a swipe at a sheepshead as it came to the net!
Maybe see you out there this weekend,

Forget about how other lakes fish, Irondequoit Bay is a different animal!
Right now its all about bottom-bouncers and crawler harnesses!
Good luck, dEv-0
We fished out of Kent in the '70's on the " Producer" with captain Marty Coon, Great Capt! .....anybody else remember him?
At the time I believe there were over 300 charter captains on the south shore of Lake Ontario!
*-snagging at the Genesee lower falls ruled, bring it back!
*-night fishing Russell Station in the fall and running out of sponge so we used cigarette buts instead.
*-casting Cleo's at the I.Bay outlet ( before the bridge)!
*-Never any clear water in the lake.
*-combat fishing during the ESLO
....well that's funny you should say that because a couple weeks ago we were fishing Honeoye and I caught a zebra mussel. I saved it figuring the marine biologists' would need a sample. When I gave it to the girl doing the survey she wasn't even interested and gave it back to me (like I needed it).
Great survey once again.
