Otisco Tiger Musky Tournament - May 11
Tigerhunter replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Sol, Thanks for the tips! One of my good buddies lives about an hour south of Paradox, my wife and I are visiting for Memorial Day weekend and will go up Sunday morning to fish. I've been there on the ice once and in a boat once in late summer. We will be in a 14' fiberglass boat with a 10 hp and my buddy has been there quite a bit so hopefully we won't find your rock. I have seen/heard of big northerns there and my buddy's cousin got a nice upper 30"er and he had a ridiculous hit on a big daredevle (no leader). Now we are prepared with proper lures and equipment so hopefully we will put a hurtin' on those toothy fish! BTW Chad, I love the app, this makes it so much easier than using safari on the iPhone! -

Otisco Tiger Musky Tournament - May 11
Tigerhunter replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I was just about to post about it, had a great time.... But didn't see a single fish-haha. I am more of a shallow water fisherman which is where I think we went wrong, that and from Friday to Tuesday the water dropped 10 degrees. We fished from 6'-17', throwing jerk baits, crank baits, gliders, spoons, spinnerbaits, tubes, and even a top raider for a little bit. The weeds we were fishing looked great but not even a looker. We only fished for a few hours and took my boat out for probably the season. Next trip will be to Paradox Lake for pike and Waneta/Lamoka for the opener. -

I am not sure about the Allegheny but the Susquehanna is open the same as Tiger/Pike because it is "too difficult" to distinguish between a pure and a tiger from what I understand. -

So what is the best way to voice our opinion on this now that we are past the 12th? -
I would like to hop in line if the book is still being passed, this is a great deal! Thanks, Trevor

Painting "fish" on the side of the boat...
Tigerhunter replied to Tigerhunter's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
That is a very good idea- now you have me thinking again! -
Now that we can't fish in NY anymore, I am starting on a project boat I bought this fall and had an idea. I will be stripping and reprinting the entire boat and was wondering if anybody has painted or ever thought of: painting "fish" on the bottom/side of their boat to either resemble a baitfish or a school of fish? I was thinking this could possibly attract a fish or at least get it to look towards you. It could result in more fish being "attracted" to the area you are in or it could be a big waste of time/effort. I want to try a couple here and there, probably not a school, just 2 or 3 on a side. I was thinking maybe airbrushing them or a simple way would be to cut out a 6-8" oval out of the aluminum foil tape. This could easily be removed if wanted and it would throw off quite a flash for little effort being put into the idea. So, what are your thoughts on this crazy idea?

Hunchback of Chautauqua Lake
Tigerhunter replied to BlueEye's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I saw a pic in musky hunter magazine of a 52"er that died trying to eat a full size muskrat. The front half of it looked a lot larger for obvious reasons.....lol. That being said and have caught quite a few tigers myself......no hunchbacks that I can remember. Maybe it has scoliosis? Haha-nice fish regardless!
