nothing is safe anymore i to had my boat stripped clean of all gear this summer on the small lake i live on in upstate ny in MY OWN FRONT YARD !! came in at night via row boat grabbed everything including my 5 yr old son pole and box i can not stand thief's low life scum i personally will be anal about all my gear and keeping it locked up where ever i might be fishing so if any of you see a guy in McD's or BK this fall ordering a bigmack while holding all his gear you will know why

i love to fish myself and am for the most part happy with any fish in the boat i release almost all my fish from the finger lakes but a few would just like to get into a few decent fish that have some fight to them i am glad to see other have the same feeling i do about keuka and i really wish dec would step up a lil more maybe if the new 5 laker limit takes effect it might help a little bit the stocking they do might be helping as well but with the bait almost gone i think there is a bigger concern for the future of the lake

how much of a impact do you think the zebra muscles have had on the lake ? have you noticed the huge decline in bait fish ? are they related do you think a bait fish stocking program would help the lake ?

im curious to know the input of other anglers that fish the keuka lake and the one good trib that runs into it what do you think has happened to the lake fishing in the past years i have noticed myself as born and raised local it has just gone down hill year after year do you think it is a bait fish issue.... the smelt are all just about gone maybe the other fish have resorted to eating there young and stock fish do you think the stocking program works and the size of the stocked fish is ok or maybe over harvesting of rainbow and landlocks ....cause anyone that fishes it knows about all you do catch anymore is pure lakers what about the adult fish size when i was young i remember catching lots of fish in the 10lbs range now if i get one and it is 4-7lbs seem to be that a real good fish for the lake how about the tribs only one good one on the lake and it is slammed every year i know i seen a post a while back about keuka and the trout catch limits what about size limits 15 inches i think is small but seem to be the main size limit i see caught everyones input and opinion would be great to see i just see the lake heading in a bad direction fast and being local and fishing it a lot this summer worries me about what my sons will have in the future

that is awesome i can only wish at 93 ill still be on the water some where still catching fish tight lines and fish on to the grandmother

felt it in the bath ny steuben county area really good house swayed from side to side for a minute

beauty is in the eye of the beholder .... what is a trophy to you might not be to others only you can decide if it is that fish you want mounted go with your gut .....fish on

i have a 20' mfg with a good running 120hp inn it might fit this boat parting mine out do to outdrive issues and lost paper work will to sell outright or make some trades for fishing gear if anyone get the boat or if you want to keep it send site pm or email [email protected] will be parting all of the boat if anyone else is looking for parts

is there a web site that has current lake conditions wave hieght and such was thinking about going over to watkins tomm.

small semi private lake downstate steuben county tied to my dock they came in late at night with a small row boat or so it seems as my yard you have to come over a hill and pretty much walk through the house to get access to the front yard and have to pass by a bunch of security lights everyone around the lake seen the person on the water that evening after dark just not good enough to get a description i know all you guys on the big lake have tons more invested just wanted to let everyone know what happened to me if it prevents one angler from loosing there gear my job here and posting was a success

not sure if this would be the correct place to post this if not would a site mod please move it for me thanks lesson learned...we all have left gear in our boats and thought it was safe not the case i left m gear in my boat and now i have none ..robbed 20 year of tackle and poles even stole my 5 year old son gear and poles never trust your boat is a safe place to have your gear even for a few hours let my lesson educate you some what on what some people are capable of to anyone that would think of stealing another anglers gear think 1st you rob laughter,dreams and memories my kids are devastated from this and i am at a loss so let my bad day prevent you from having one .......

how was the "pleasure boaters" we was there last sunday late did not get there till 3ish and fished till 8 boated 2 decent lakers and a few smaller ones but what a ordeal with all the people just riding around clueless had one guy pass right behind us 40-50 ft with a tube trailing behind and a few that crossed in front of us one super close think we are going to try the branchport side next see if it is any better all are fish came in on spoons

was down in hammonsport yesterday for a few hours late in the day boated 5 largest was only 4lbs all but 1 came from 120-135 over 140-145 left from the motel and went up the right side marking lots and lots of fish last week did ok by the state park boated 4 in the 3-5lbs range all taking on spoons
