  1. Hey guys, thanks for the great feedback. The fishing was this good for almost 2 weeks, it has leveled off now, but we are still doing very good, double digit fish every trip. Oh yes, The Atlantics, I guess the stocking program is working. My boat has seen 4 Atlantics headed to the taxidermy man.. Great fishing. Still lots of logs and sticks out there, be carfull.
  2. Yes, I mean Tormentors, I wish they still made them... I have been staying in shallow, You have to find them, tuesday morning we hit the big Atlantic and then nothing for awhile, then we went back to the dirty water and worked it and started a nice pic. My buddy has been doing well deeper in front of catfish/high rocks.
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS did 2 trips on Wednesday, should have been done in 30 minutes or so, hit 8 fish quick and landed 1, that's the way it goes sometimes, it slowed up after 2 passes and we had to work for them. the wind started up mid morning and turned them on a little to help, very happy clients, double digit fish. Afternoon trip, set all 10 rods and hit a triple first thing, got them all. wind shifted to the wnw and helped turn the fish on. Hit 20 some fish, landed 2-10 lbers and a skinny Atlantic. Wow, last year we landed maybe 15 atlantics in the spring and none were long enough. This year we've landed around 10 and all were keepers except 1, nice... I've add a pic of some of the lures we've been using all spring, the metallic green smithwick has been hot at times the chart. smithwick is a custom paint job and that was on fire early and still takes a fish. The other ones a Abu Garcia lures, and they work very well all the time, they have a very aggressive wobble and loud rattle, they work great in dirty water. Oh, and they run very shallow. ====================
  4. Did 2 trips today and got a seagull. no pics of it, did not turn out so good for him... Fishing was goood though , should have limited in 20 minutes this morning but they no stick to hooks. we finally limited. afternoon trip was better, wind picked up and nice pic every pass.. 2 -10 lbers and another atlantic. post pics tomorrow, too tired, getting sleepy...
  5. Oh sure, take the last 2, LOL... I ran them today, I had 2 trips today, tried them couple different times, nothen. Natural colored sticks was best, wind kicked up around 11:00 and turned them back on. did better in the afternoon..
  6. Hi John, I starterd working the green water and hit Atlantic right away, started at 7:30am. then very slow for awhile, the green water was a little clearer then we first thought, so we turned around and worked some dirty water until we figured them out. Went through lots of lures, keep changing colors and sizes. Saturday, they only wanted a custom painted smithwick, today they never touched it. that can be frustrating, you think you figure them out and nothen, dead rods. If my rods aren't moving, I'm changing and playing.. today small was better, t-sticks and my garcia lures. I'll post of pic of those garcia lures. Oh yes, a yo-zuri worked too. We hit a double just before picking rods at 12:30, morning is the best though... Thanks Capt. Dave
  7. Thanks, I have a few in both sizes. I ran one Sat, no luck but will try them again thanks Capt. Dave

Nice fight to the boat then he spazzed at the boat and jumped all over the place, but we got him, and he's headed to the taxidermy man.. just a nice pic, nothen special, no triples. just regular brown trout fishing. both spoons and sticks working. Good luck and be careful, still lots of sticks and logs out there...Sat.we caught 2 large sticks and a small bag, no birds either day.. Capt. Dave ====================
  9. Hey F H, what is the Goby, smithwick. I have a bunch of them but didn't know they have a goby pattern. a pic would be nice... I need 4000 and 1 lures, lol....
  10. Hi Terron, I run a charter out of mexico bay. The fishing has been very good, check out my video on the "fishing videos" page. I just took another angler out and showed him all the ins and outs of our trolling program and he went from catching 3-5 fish to 15-20 fish. But it was a teaching trip, with emphasis on instruction... But I'm in Mexico, not R-chester... Call me with any Questions Capt. Dave

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:ReelSilver ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: 50 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: anything bright Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Picked up a last minute trip, left the dock at 1:30. Thank God the fish were hungry, the guys only lasted 2 hours with the 1-3 footers and a 4 to 5 footers mixed in. Hit a few fish then hit back to back to back triples just as soon as we could get the rods reset. Then did a nice pick back to port. went 13 for about 22. Also caught another bird, a Tern. watched a tern pick up my lure, fly funny and then drop it. 2 minutes later another tern picked up another lure and fall to the water. I hope these birds go to Alaska soon... And this weather is not helping either... OMG, I think the weekend looks good.
  12. Hey guys, thanks for all the great feedback. This video is fantastic, hell, this spring fishing has been fantastic. My buddy landed a big King on the 1st and the browns are just unbelievable, huge numbers and some nice size ones to boot... Thanks Capt. Dave

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: 50 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 40 plus Total Boated: 30 Species Breakdown: 1 bass, rest browns, Oh yes, and 1" Bird" Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Sunday, Left the dock at 6:00 am, got all 10 rods in the water, and did a nice pick all morning. Turned a 8 hour into a 6 hour, they got tired... Saturday morning was OK, the afternoon trip was very slow at first. Hitting 5 fish the first 3 hours, the next 3 was good and ended up with happy anglers. The problem was the mud, it was heavy and everywhere. Sunday, no mud nice light brown to green water. Most anglers were catching fish, My buddy FoxBow landed a nice King about 18-20 lbs. great bonus. Oh yes, had a bird, think it was a Turin, grab my lure. We had to drag him in and unhook, pretty bird. Hey Fish Hunter, buddy told me yu were calling me on the radio. guess I missed you. ====================
  14. Nice to see some homemade ones. I run some old ones that a buddys dad made me 25 years ago and they work perfect. They plain way out to the side and never dive. I've seen them jump 3-4 feet in the air off some big waves. no problems. The Key is the 6 inch eye bolt for the plainer line. Capt. Dave
  15. Great fishing, but I gotta ask. What's a goby Rapala?? I don't have enough lures, LOL
  16. I think you're right, we are spoiled, next day was on fire though. Had some nice colored waterto work.
  17. The weekend looks good, thursday-fri. not so good, I moved some people to the weekend. I hope it's good too At least that's what the weather man says now, hope he right... The Good Old Days, Right now is (The Good Old Days).... Capt. Dave
  18. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ReelSilver ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 4-27 Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Flat Surface Temp: Locati Mexico Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 55-60 Total Boated: 40 ish Species Breakdown: all browns Hot Lure: everything Trolling Speed: 2.0-2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: everything on the boards ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Fishing Still Hot, water color was better today after all those storms.... Left the dock at 6:15 and got all rods out before we started hitting them, had 6 Quads, tons of doubles and Triples. All Browns, no Atlantics today. Even tried to find a lure they would not hit, we failed, they hit everything. I was reeling in a firetiger jointed rapala and WAM, he hit it at about 5 mph. That's close to 400 fish landed so far. Capt. Dave ====================
  19. No way, I run Mono and I like it. 1st. I like the stretch, most of my clients want to rip the hooks out of the brown trouts mouth as it is. With braid, They would rip all the hooks out, our landing % will drop. 2nd, Price, not the first spool up but the 2nd and 3rd. Most trips I'm running 5 sometimes 6 rods on each board, and some fish just don't follow the rules and go to the back of the boat before comming in, and they catch some of the other lines and then we cut and retie. I've already added line to 2 spools this year. Don't get me wrong, I only use Trilene xt, that's pricey enough. Capt. Dave
  20. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 4-25, 4-26 Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: 44-46 Location: Mexico Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Wow, What a difference a day makes. Monday the 25th we had a very good day, 2 nice Atlantics 8 and 13 lbs, and plenty of fish. Today was a very slow pic, landed about 18 fish, 1 Atlantic about 24 inches, it went back. Lots and lots of clear water. when the sun came out it got even slower. saw several other boats, did not see any nets moving . We need some wind to stir things up. I think thursday-friday might bring some... Capt. Dave ====================
  21. Hey guys an gals, I just posted the video of these trips... Capt. Dave
  22. Well, Here it is, I think it says it all. This year has started out as good as I remember. Capt. Dave
  23. Hi Stevo I have used the small ones, but now I use Luhr Jensen #2, they look a little big but they don't open up like the smaller ones. And I never use the swivels with stick baits, just snaps. Capt. Dave
