I lost half my drag during the Sandy Creek Shootout last season on one of my wire setups. The reel is a Daiwa SG47LCA Sealine. Any idea where i can get parts for this??
BERTS BERTS BERTS!!!!! Ratching Berts are the best! Easy for getting your rod out when a fish is going the other way. They go into a tracking system like you are looking for! They are a little pricey but they are worth every penny, you will not regret.
Never A bad time to fish this lake!! Spring time time kill the Browns, Coho's, and maybe even A King as i caught my first King last year in March!! Summer till Fall the biggest Kings on the great lakes cant beat it! Just be carefull because once you come back and do it break out the wallet because it's like CRACK you just can't get enough!!
Without a doubt Maxima line for your riggers i run 20lb with a 15lb flouro leader. And for the dipsey set up run wire. You can run braid which works fine up till the flea's start then after that forget it!
My ? was not if i had power steering because i know that i do. It was how to tell what style i had? should there be visable cables i could see with a machanical? I was told you can have a power steering to assist mechanical steering. And i also thought the power steering pump would aid the hyrd. steering? Man i guess this was a stupid question
To me both are great units but...... I know im going to get crushed for this ..... do you really need a $1300-$1500 unit for open water Trout and Salmon fishing? IMO your down/speed unit is what you need to catch fish on Lake O! Sure everyone would love to have one of those expensive units but are they necessary? I have a Garmin unit that i payd like $600 the marks fish , puts down way points, has all the gps you could want, the only thing i wish it had was a bigger screen because the 5in is hard to see when im in the back of the boat. Again this is ONLY my opinion and am not Knocking anyone for what they use given if i had they $$ I would probably run one of the more expensive ones to just to say i had one. ok now i will take my beating!

How do I know if my boat has mechanical or hydr. steering? I know i should know this but I honsetly have no clue. My boat is 215 Chris Craft Sea Hawk with a 3.7L 4cyl. 180Mercruiser engine. I do know that there is a belt driven power steering pump if that helps at all.
Thanks Matt
Well i guess i dont have to worry about it any more since the boat was sold last night . Sucks but what can you do, atleast i wont have another loan to pay for .
