I also shoot a 45. from cva and 225gr. power belts shoot pretty darn good for me! Only 100 gr. of powder thuo i tried 150gr. but that combination just had horrible results. I took a nice 8 pointer with it this season at 85 yards and absolutely pile drived straight into the ground with zero movement once it hit the ground! I know, after i even read this post it kind of seems like i am ungreatful! But believe me thats not what i mean, my point is just the #'s and the amount of movement that i personally have seen have been alot less and slower to my past years!

Took both these bucks this year! One with my Mathews and one with my Muzzle Loader. Yea, i am happy with my bucks dont get me wrong, but all in all i would say this year has been the worst year for me in a very long time, prolly b4 i new what i was doing!! Mainly i would say it his do to the Florida like weather we have had to deal with ALL SEASON! Hopefully we can get a little bit of that white stuff and some colder weather for the smoke poles!!! The Scent Blocker boots I have come with a "odor catcher"..? that you can wash and recharge.Also they have a rip cord that pulls tight at the top of the boot that locks the scent in leaving only your socks to accumulate scent. Plus they are very light waight and comfortable.For the $100.00 i payed for them very well worth it! Matt -Jakey Baby-

You simpley need to play the the wind!! Not only while sitting but going to and from your stand location also!!!!I wash all my clothes a few times a week and wear scent blocker clothes,boots,gloves,and mask. But they can still get ya, the wind is everything.My #1 rule is DO NOT tuck your pant legs inside your boots!!!!!!!!!!!Your feet have odor no matter what you might think If you put your pants in your boots walk to and from your stand plus sit your stand for hours then get back to your truck and put all your "Scent FREE clothes" back in your bag and seal it up! Now all your clothes that you try and make as scent free as possible smell like your feet, just from your pants from the knees down.Trust me i used to do it and would get busted and now that i ALWAYS wear them outside the boots what a differnce .Also i will put my clothes in leaves but only if they are extremly dry. If they are wet at all they will leave a musty odor so make sure they are very dry.One other tip is buy the fresh earth dryer sheets,they work.I always wash my inner clothes first then do a seperate load with my camo, bags, ect.. Then dry them seprate also, your washer and dryer smell like flowers or whatever scent you might have in there allyear long. Thats why my camo goes last so hopefully that scent you dont want gets washed away b4 it gets exposed to it. Matt -Jakey Baby-

Rapala J-13's are the plugs you must be talking about. I have been casting and trolling with them in the fall for a long time now. They really have a great action to piss those fish off!Like you said Fire Tiger is the best color but orange and gold, black and silver or natural perch all work well also.When casting them i crank them in very very slow most of the time, it just gives it that more action. Once the kings are really setting up to come in to the rivers i will run 6 J-13's off my planner boards and absolutley pound the kings!!! Matt -Jakey Baby-

Set up in about 80Fow heading north, Before i was set up the 90 down rigger fires with a Screamer...theis came on NBK spin/doc with a hammer fly.This fished ripped a ton of line then decided to turn back towards the boat and then gone! Next the other rigger i had set down 90ft fires pulling a DW s/s Lemon Ice . This fish ran and ran some more then next thing i hear is "S*&T IT'S GONE"!! Now that was the secound major dumped in about 20 mins.We kept hitting the area that we hit these 2 fish and marked lots of bait and fish.The next pass we made the 250 wire diver starts screaming so i finally take the rod saying this one isnt going any where!!!This was on the glow frog dipsy pulling the crome mnt. dew spin/doc with the mirage fly.Faught this fish for a good wile then you know it, the damn thing came unbuttoned! At this point in didnt know what to do besides and keep trying!We made are turn and came back through and sure enough sreaming real on the other wire.I pick the rod up and just hold on, this was a good one!Knowing that i cant loose this one i give the fish lots of drag ! Not to much but enough to not pull the hook out of it's face.Then the worst thing that could have happend did happen!! I could feal on of the rigger lines sliding on the wire. B4 i could get it cleared major # 4 GONE!!Never have i ever lost that many good fish that quick!I Know that it wasnt due to the hooks not being sharp because this year i have started sharping them almost every time they go back in the water.Maybe snubbers on the dipsy's..?But i only had 30lb flouro with me and did not want to take a chance of loosing the fish plus more.We did manage a nice stealhead about 10lbs, a 8 lb brown, and a bunch of skipper kings.Better luck Wendsday when i hit that spot again, we did also see a king jumping about 8 ft out of the water in 150fow several times.Pretty neat... Downrigger counters can vary because of many factors such as amount of line on the spool, boat speed, ball weight, lure type, downrigger brand, etc., etc. On my boat are two cannon Mag 20 DT/HS riggers, both 1 1/2 years old. I've had recurrent problems with one and part of the repair was a need to change the counter gears to a newer model of gear (Cannon requirement when changing circuit board). Now they track at different depths on the same counter number. Is there a standerd amount of cable that should be on a cannon spool for the counter to be accurate as possable???Also wouldnt the length of the boom make a little bit of a difference,being it could be any were from 1ft up to 6ft..?? Fished with a TON of other boats~!!! Set up on the inside with the screen lit up.Took are first fish right out front in 72 fow down 65 wich was a 10lb Brown. Next the rigger fires in 81 fow pretty much right out front again with a 19.6 King taking it!That fish came on a DW lemon Ice wich was our MVP of the day. Headed West and then North and ended up as deep as 430fow with marks all over but no takers, should of tried and stayed in the skinny water longer since the boats skatterd.Skippers here and there but no majors, also today was my first trip out i want to say all summer were i did not even have a fish hit the wire divers!Back out of Sandy with a little less boat traffic as soon as the Hurricane moves on. I have broken two of the same rod's also.One trying to just release it from a rigger!The other one on a dipsy, even though they are not dipsy rods still should not have broke.I have also had a Shimano Talora break trying to releas it of a rigger. No problams with the Okuma's. Matt -JakyBaby-

Any one ever have a leadcore break at the lead????? I bought a used lead core and thought all was good, untill yesterday when i was bring it in to check it.I believe there was a small fish on it so i started to bring it in pretty easy and once i got threw the first two colors all on a sudden the line snapped! Not very much pressure at all and it just broke the lead.I personally have never seen this happen.?Now i am left with about a 2 color leadcore Matt -Jakey Baby-

While we were setting up took are first fish right off the bat.18lb King 250 back and the braided dipsy,pulling a prism dipsy behind that was a green NBK spin doctor with a crome back with a hammer fly.Hit that fish in 180 fow, continued trolling north and avoiding the pack of boats we steadely picked fish. Only went as far as about 220fow and turned around trying to find that Big one. Kept going with are north/south troll between those 2 depth's and had a ball. Finally in 211fow the wire takes off like a truck hit the other end of it!!!!!!Thank god i was standing right by the wire watching it because the fish hit with such force it broke the rod holder and almost took the rod with it.Just grabed it in time and just held on,the fish took it's first run 300ft with out a thought of looking back!Took an additional 150ft b4 i could clear some lines and try and make a turn back towards him.Then all of a sudden nothing!! The wire whent limp and nothing home, probably my best fish of the year gone.Oh yeah that came on a glow frog dipsy pulling aCrome Mnt. Dew spin doctor and a mirage pearl fly 250ft back on a 2.5 stetting.(Hottest set up for the year by far).Best speed was 2.5 on the subtroll.Ended up i think 15 for 19 on the 3 hour trip, which was much better than i had expected with all the reports of bad water lately.Cant wait for the fall loc this weekend.
