Sat till 11 today and had to leave even though I really didn't want to. Had to kick two deer out to get down. Saw 20 deer total, 9 or 10 mature doe and the rest yearlings. The buck I'm chasing has passed by my stands 3 different times and 3 different stands on camera. He has me chasing him back and forth like crazy. Pulled into my kids school to pick him up at 3 o'clock and there was a 3 year old 9 point tending a doe right next to the road with no cares in the world.
Half way through the day, and still haven't seen a deer. Hopefully the 2nd half will be a little more eventful. These all day sits are starting to take their toll on me. I'm fine with only seeing one deer all day if it's the one I'm after! Whistle blown, let the 2nd half begin!
Picture perfect morning, only problem is no deer. Have only heard 3 shots all morning and they were a long way out. Going to be a long day if it continues like this. Checked cards yesterday and the one I'm after has been on the move midday.
Zero deer spotted for me today. I'm really going to miss bow season! Heading into the spot I've been holding out for opening day of gun, someone I hunt with decided to go into the area tonight and saw a monster. Go figure. Well hopefully he was unbothered and shows again tomorrow! Awsome to see you here Tommy and good luck tomorrow! There isn't anyone that deserves a 200" more then you my man! Fingers are crossed for both you and your daughter tomorrow!
Yea, I headed in early. Had a 3/4 of a mile walk in, reached the stand a 5:45. Zero movement yet, going to throw everything I got at them today, might even rattle even though I cant ever get it to work.
Was able to slip out the back door from work. In my blind over looking clover and Chicory. Didn't have alot of time to waste walking and this was the best option. Getting Down to the wire here, fingers are crossed! Good luck tonight guys and girls.
Sat all day AGAIN. 46 deer sightings throughout the day. All the yearlings I saw alone last Thursday have been reunited with their mothers. Crazy how all the doe in this area were breeding the same day or two! The last hour was insane with deer coming from every direction! Was impossible to move to look to see what the next deer showing up was. Not a single buck all day over a first rack. Could not believe with the amount of deer in the area. Acorns were the key tonight. Back to work for 3 days then I more bow hunt, then off all week for the boom sticks.
