I will be on doe patrol this evening! Any trespassing doe that comes from the neighboring property that thinks she can just come to eat then go live somewhere else is in trouble!
Any one have or know of someone who may have a 2 or 4 row corn planter that they would be willing to rent or even possibly sell? Obviously wouldnt need it until next spring but trying to get everything pland out for next season. We have used a 10 row planter in the past but is just to big.
Great job! Love that gun also. 1st sit in a LONG time for me. Brought the bow with me. Really want to kill one with a bow on the ground. Property is definitely in need of doe management right now!!
Same boat! The best feeling in the world to punch a tag! But once it's gone it's gone! With both my tags filled, my season has been over since! Will hit the woods now then with my bow to try and take a doe or two. And to be honest I don't even want to be put in the spot of having a giant come bye me when I don't have a tag! Not to say I would pull the trigger but, it would definitely cross my mind. That being said most of my scouting over the next month will be of Ohio maps. Decided we are heading there for their late muzzle loader season! Since racks are off limit here I need to travel, and hopefully one of us can punch an Ohio tag! Can't wait to chase bucks again!!
Negative, talked to them over the phone. From the information i gave them , they figured it was due to infection. They told me they would give me a tag but would cut the rack off and I would need to discard the body! That wasn't going to work with me, not getting my rack sorry!
I too thought 2.5 all season. But have been doing a TON of research the last few weeks on aging and body structure. To me these pics the i got I'd him yesterday lead me to believe he is 3.5. Just a guess obviously as they are tough to age without a ton of history. Neck is wider then his face, back and belly have a downward sway to it, and chest is filled out.
Pulled a few cards on my way out today.... next year's target buck! Let him walk twice during bow season. And have a few pics of him. Got him hitting a scrape yesterday and looks like he could be a good one next year!
