Clover and Turnips is on the menu tonight! Great action in tight cover this morning, hoping this temp drop today puts some does in feed mode which in turn will make some bucks come a checking!
Little while ago had a doe with 2 fawns come through 100 miles an hour. 5 mins later right after I set my bow back down a big yote came down their trail. Turned at the last second no shot! Bastard! 5 mins later a doe pops out with her tail in the air and had a 2 1/2 8 tending nice a slow past the stand. Free pass cool encounter
12 total so far, all flat tops and fawns with one first racker chasing. Unfortunately they are cutting the corn here. Much better hunting here when the corn is standing! I also know of a few bucks that hit the dirt last night, definitely time to be in a tree!
Went to bed thinking I would definitely need my long Johns this morning. Woke up and think I might put the boat in the water! This weather is crazy! Headed in now after the big 10. Congrats Keith!! Awsome buck!
Just settled in. A little later then I was hoping, love these drury cold days!! Bedding on the right and left with 80 yrds of open woods in the middle an corn 200 yards to the south. Love this spot!
Most would think that the once the snow flys for the first time of the year that the deer will be moving like crazy. I for one tend to think the opposite. To me it seems like the first snow fall kinda shocks them since it changed there surroundings si much? Maybe not, but I usually see a big drop in movement the first time we see snow.
Absolutely Dan! And for that reason alone is why my bar is set where it is. Who knows maybe down the road I will be able to bump it up to 4 1/2 but doubtful giving we are hunting in NYS.
