Awsome job! We too killed a rare bird today, a hybrid Black/ Mallards! Pretty cool, we also saw 8 mature Pintail!! Thought we were going to get a shot at the first 3 that came through. A big flock of like 30 Mallard appeared and sucked are Pintail right from our grasp! Definitely at the top of my list of birds I want! It was probably the most nervous I've ever been in a duck blind. Congrats again!

A couple buddy's and i are talking about possibly trying to run offshore this weekend if the weather cooperates. Any tips on what to do or look for would be awsome as I have never done this before. What's the best way to run decoys, type of birds to possibly get into ( really want an Eider!!) even though I no its not realistic. Really just want to try an get away from the crowds and try something different! Any info would be awsome Thanks!

Predator Hunting-Foxes, and a humbling experience.

The only stupid thing I can see here is your comments! I'm pretty sure the whole point of this was for him explaining what he did and how he felt about it!? ( sounded pretty bad to me). Everyone looses game one day or another and thats just the way it goes. People like you shouldn't be allowed to speak. -

What I like about trolling on Lake Ontario in summer
JakeyBaby replied to Patriot's topic in Open Lake Discussion
For me it's walking down the dock to the boat in the dark before a tournament! All the boats are lit up, all you can see is rods and nets high in the sky, the anticipation on all the teams faces! Then one by one you start to hear engines fire up! Untie the boat and heading out the shoot with some of the most beautiful boats on either side of you!! Once you hit the lake it's game time! That's the best for me, I truly love tournament fishing! -
If you can put 30 legal fish in a boat during a tournament, you are more than welcome to fish with me during any tournament!! Actually I beg you to fish with me!

Definitely the toughest seasons if you are "trophy hunting" . And for me that consists of deer sightings/harvest that are 3 1/2 and older. I did see a huge number of 1st racked bucks and does. It seemed that the doe's this year were unusually small in size where I hunt. Be able to harvest a mature doe with my 5 year old son in the blind with me was definitely the high light of my season. As others have said, this was a great thread all season long. Thanks and we will have to do it again next year!

Call me crazy but for some reason more and more it's seems like people are arguing, fighting, name calling, and threatening. I thought this great site was supposed to be about sharing and helping with others who love the same thing? Weather you are a full time charter capt, someone who enjoys fishing the great streams, fishing the hard water or just sitting on a dock baiting a hook for a kid WE all came to this site for one thing! Because of the passion we have for the same damn thing! The moderators here I'm sure have plenty of other things to do then to have to baby sit any particular thread. Don't get me wrong either, I know any good conversation is going to end up in a debate and that's great. But what good comes from putting someone down because you may have took the way that someone WROTE something wrong? I'm no shrink or anything but I'm pretty sure Chad gave this site the name he did for a reason?? Just saying and back to the good stuff!

Brian is spot on.... there are a bunch of tournaments on this side of the pond that cater to everyone and not just the pros. Sandy Creek shootout definitely being one of them. Every year it gets bigger and bigger, a lot of great teams with a ton of experience and doesn't break the bank to participate. Another one would be the Oak Orchard Open. Not a ton of money to participate, a ton of great competition. They also have organized it so an AM team can win a separate prize for winning that division but you are still able to win the big pot. Either way for me tournament fishing is a great time and a ton of fun. The amount of knowledge you will gain is unmatched in my opinion. Give it a try you won't regret it!
