We have alot of luck with the in-lines. For us they are easier to reset to the same position they were in. Plus its good practice for the Walleye opener!! I also think that they give the stix a little different action, def not as fun fighting the fish but it gets them in the boat!
Finally added a few things to the boat this year that i have always wanted!! Raymarine Auto Pilot and built a rocket launcher! The R/L really makes the boat pop! Just need to add a few more rod holders, planner board reels a good wash and wax n she will be ready for action, CANT WAIT!!!
Never had a problem with fish hitting with sub troll in the water. Dont look at it like, I need to hold a certain speed because everyone one says thata the speed to hold. Every boat trolls different, and thats a fact! I always run my probe to what the fish want not what I want. As far as blow back a heavier weight is definitely the way to go, adding a probe alone will cause quite a bit more blow back then one with out. Just my 2.
Believe me It does suck!! 2years ago I lost one in 30 fow In Chaumont Bay!! Sub Troll and all.... really sucks!! You can always tie in some sort of tether just in case your worried of loosing one. I even do it when in small boats with small outboards on them, saved my a$$ one year in the Islands.
I would admit that the cost is the main reason. I do run seagar for all my leaders except for between my dipeys - attractor, ( but not spoons.) And on my fly's. Not being a Charter and havin that xtra money coming in to support my cost for the CRACK habbit I have for this sport. So if money wasn't an option then yea I would run floro all day!
50lb big game. Alot cheaper and works great. IMO there is so much going on with the attractors and fly's the leader is the last thing the fish is looking at!
I personally like and tie the tournament style rig, more hooks in the mouth the better!! Tie a bunch up at different lengths so when you want to put another fly into the mix you have them on hand. Also fun playing with bead colors.
I have also heard great things about him in the last 2 days also!! My problem is I like figuring this kind of stuff out my self, so next time I have a problem or someone else I can fix it! Just the way ive always been. That being said one of the brushes in the motor was cracked in half. So now im trying to find a comparable one since the digi-troll 2's are impossible to get parts for!
