X2 with King Slammin on the trolling motor the Ipilot rocks! if you get the higher end ipilot and the right humminbird it will follow depth contours.

I think the autopilot project that was referred to is actually by Jack Edwards. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

After reviewing the picture you posted I think you will need to move your transducers if you add the trim tabs.

I placed the nauticus pro troll smart tabs on my 2012 starweld pro 18. This helped with the porpoise issue gave us a better hole shot and added about 3mph to the top end. These trim tabs also have a trolling mode where you can put them full down working like a trolling back was able to use that to slow the boat down to 1.5 mph. I've never had any steering issues. Towne marine was where we purchased it and haven't had any unresolved issues. we did subsequently purchase a kicker motor which had some challenge doing the install due to the trim tabs. I was able to finally get a kicker mount that worked out the issues. This needed a change in the control cables and Towne Marine shipped out replacements with no problem. Hope you get the issues sorted out if you would like pics of the trim tab setup let me know.

X2 I almost lost a rod last year when that happened luckily I was able to circle the boat and catch the line with another rod. won't use them again!

Look into using a swr (secret weapon rig) if you think the fish are being turned off by the ball.

gave it a shot this morning with some waves breaking over the side of the cute we decided to try again later today winds are supposed to die down some. Just didn't think it would be that fun. Some of the bigger boats came back in as well.
Good luck to those that give it a go!
