    Last week I used my power drive with iPilot while using my yammy 115 to troll. Worked great as long as the wind wasn't too bad. Landed quite a few fish with me and my buddy in the back of the boat while the iPilot kept things running straight. I used the compass direction not the GPS which seemed to work better.     Santa brought me 2 of TROUTMAN87's 12lb torpedoes, I haven't gotten to use them yet but they look great!

    Congratulations on the new boat! I have a 2012 Starweld 1800 Pro powered by 115 Yamaha. The boat is very lite and you will likely run across significant bow rise out of the hole as well as a porpoising issue while running even with the motor fully trimmed down. You might consider a set of Nauticus Pro Troller trim tabs. These will fix those issues as well as doubling as trolling brakes incase your big motor won't go slow enough to troll, only bad thing is you have to drill a bunch of holes in your transom. It was tough drilling holes in my new boat but it was sure worth it. Best of luck with the new boat!

    Thanks for the input, I have found some cannonlinks available for about $109 of course the cables would be separate. If I decide to get the setup I may take you up on that Don.     I personally prefer the Minn Kota's I've had one on every boat and they perform very well. I also think their technology makes the battery last longer. I currently have a Powerdrive V2 55lb thrust on my 18ft Starweld. I added the IPilot autopilot feature, I wouldn't be without the IPilot now, allows me to control the motor anywhere on the boat and hold a course either by compass or gps as well as store tracks for reuse. I also have a Terrova 55lbs with the IPilot as well on my 17ft bass tracker. Both are great motors. Best of luck with what ever you choose!
