Big white or green tube jigs work great... Also 3/8 or 1 oz bucktail jigs also 4 inch white mister twisters work well .... My experience was through the ice over there but should get similar results. .. Hills Valleys and Streams in Elmira carries most of that.... I think what nauti is saying is that it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time instead of it having to do with lure... Normally I would agree with that but there's a spoon that has done very well for me for many years for pig landlocks this particular time of year and water temp.... Way to go John! ! Was a beautiful day.. We had similar results on lakers just couldn't find any bigger than 4lb range and managed that 1 rainbow.. Deeeeep flys and flashers got a lot of lakers off the bottom while our 3 color core was doing lots of damage with a Finger Lakes Tackle Red spoon with black dots .. As soon as we would get that set up back in the water the board would start to pull back up and we would watch it go back again.. I'll happily take a fourth and stay up there in the points chase and definitely ready for Owasco... Lots of fun and the turnout was amazing. . Again Great Job.. I run 40 oz on rigs right off the boat and 36oz on rigs off planners.. Has worked great for me .. I like them down and out of the way so I can clear long coppers and long cores especially if you get one of those bigger fish that like to dig down or a brown that will attempt and sometimes succeed at passing the boat on the outside. . Nick doesn't need my help thats for sure.... Its the biggest and nicest fishing platform in the finger lakes....Definitely a AWESOME experience this weekend .. Never had anyone tell me to go down to kitchenette and un plug the crock pot full of sloppy joe and bring it up lol.. And to top it off Joe took a $5 bet from Nick that he wouldn't bite the head off a lamprey and Joe took Nicks 5 bucks and bit the head right off like a champ... Look out Joe since I posted that in here your gonna get tracked down by PETA LOL... When Nick invites us on the boat there's never a dull moment witb our crew even if the fishing is slow.. I contacted my friend the owner of the campground and he wanted me to post so all know whats going on.. I give him big props for what he is doing.. Mike "It is posted across the stream with a yellow rope with posted signs hanging from it. I own both sides to the center of the creek. The owners past me do not want people on their land either. The DEC also comes to check the creek as it is not a trout stream that the fishing easement has been sold to NY State therefore it is trespassing to be on it".
