Launched out of Watkins at 6 with abc715 (Brent) Setup shop right out the shoot and it was a extremely tough fishing day for us it wasn't for a lack of fish or working hard to get them to go.... We continuously cleaned riggers cores coppers and dipsys of the horrendous weeds and fleas showed up a bit again also... Marks where there and ran everything in the book down to them to get them too go but no prevail .. We did eventually pick up 2 small Landlocks and called it a day.. It was a beautiful day out there today and could have been doing worse things ..Great fishing with you today Brent and I'm sure we will do it again.. Be back at it tomorrow as long as the weather cooperates... Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I think you have the right idea but take a few steps backwards and keep it simple sometimes less is better get comfortable with one setup then add the next... Green whites blues and orange are always go to colors for spoons flashers and flies... I was out this weekend a few different times and found the bite very tough .. Marked lots of fish but getting them to go was a different story... This lake has awesome fisherie but is the most stubborn at giving up the goods at times and right now is one of those times.. Fisherman will always start questioning themselves after a few poor outings in a row but stick with the program and it will all come together. .. I only run 3 ft leads off my dipsies and do just fine I only run flouro on my spoon dipsys and core and coppers liters and I prefer 15 lb because I can run it here and Ontario with out changing due to jumping back and forth in summer... 2.6 is a great speed to start at but sometimes a bit faster or a bit slower will also get it done depending on how active the fish are... Hope some of this helps ... Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Went out for a quick hour trip this morning ...Had about 2 hour before having to be back in fir breakfast so set up right out of chute again and worked the south end ... Ran a copper, dipsy and a rigger... Trolled north for a bit before getting into the area I was marking bait and fish in yesterday and didnt take long and rigger set at 53 takes a good whack on free sliding cheater and have a good little fight on my hands.. Rainbow surface behind boat then tries to pass the boat was quite the battle fishing solo but get her to the boat and quick pic and released to fight another day... Headed in at 830 had breakfast and ringing and hooking some new FLT spoons for tonight.... Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Launched at 10 this morning after making some fine tunes to my new to me Yamaha 9.9 high trust setup.. Just set up running north right out the chute with 300 copper dipsy and downrigger... Was mainly out there to make sure kicker set up was good but ended up putting 2 fish in the boat...Motor ran great and what a huge difference with high trust... Will be off all week with nothing to do but fish so hoping weather will cooperate ... Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks Scott good to hear that your boat ran well.... Jason that is quite the story wow!! I have heard of guys trolling out in the middle of lakes before and having swarms find their boats and hang out for a while but driving at 65 and right into it.. That must have been a huge mess.. Thanks Jason....Definitely was a tough fishing conditions and sleeping conditions it sounds like... Ya Keuka had a nice roll to her when we launched and knew we were in for some tough fishing... I've been keeping track of all the reports from Canandaigua and yes sounds like it could be tough but have also had some amazing fishing from over there that time of year but if the fishing is slow the scenery will more than make up for it.. I really think the last two tournaments are gonna be alot of fun and some really nice off fish will be brought to the scales... Cant wait looking forward to it.... This is a great boat!! Fished out of it many times ... Anyone looking for a great deal on a boat of this size this is it... Like lakebound said the dance floor is huge and there are great memories of a lot of early morning fish slimming dances that have taken place on this fishing machine.. Sad to see her go !! Good luck on your next vessel Nick Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Launched out of Branchport fishing FLTA Club Tourney and ran way south setting up shop running riggers dipsys cores coppers and rigs... We were putting our first rig in the water and Matt who was putting rig down says we got one on already and we bring it up and find a nice 4 lb bow on the second liter down so in the box and feeling good about what this day could bring.... We get the rest of our gear in and not long after 200 copper takes off and we get about a 4lb laker to the boat then a bit of a slow time between our next fish.. The Lowrance is marking beautiful big arches down 75 to 100 but cant get any of those fish to go can only move fish in the top 55 for some reason... Threw everything in the book at those nice marks all day with no results. . We had a four fish box at around 15 pounds and were not feeling very good about it on the way to weigh in and we were visibly frustrated with our performance but knew that you cant finish good every time... We head to weigh in and to our surprise it seems like a slow day for most and end up pulling off the win and retaining the points lead.. Cant say enough about the guys that fish with me .. They never get down or get into a funk on slow days they always keep working at it and keep changing setups up or working riggers and rigs and changing speeds and so forth when we are working those lock Jaw fish and I'll tell ya what those little things have paid off numerous times this year... Great job to everyone who fished yesterday with all the wind and changing weather conditions. .. Sorry no pictures this week was sleeping at the wheel again .. lol Mike Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
