Huntin Trout the bass boats came flying up both sides of us and almost lost a board but he saw it at the last minute and some how managed to avoid it.... Were you in a 25 ft or so Proline ??? Did see that boat out there cruising around.....

Launched out of Woodville and couldn't believe all the boats at 6 am .. We were fishing in a FLTA tournament and there was also a bass tournament going on the same time we found out but everybody cooperated very well and no problems whatsoever except a very crowded parking lot thanks to the north end launch being closed.... Decided to run just south of the condos and setup shop figuring we would have everything in the water before we hit the SPOT ..... We ran riggers, 3,5,8,12 color cores and 2 coppers, couple top lines and 2 wires ..... Just as we got the last rod in the water WHAM 12 color takes a smash and we get it in with a nice Bow ...... Get everything back in again and and the copper fires with its fatter twin brother and we get that one in the boat and feeling pretty good... We caught fish all morning that we released including bunch of small bows and a small brown just under club rule length and one really nice Laker that we couldn't weigh because our final tournament of the year is off fish only tournament... We finished 4th out of 10 boats and I believe tied for third in overall points for the year.... I would like to congratulate all the member of the FLTA and the great group of guys that fish with me , My Dad, Dave and Matt on another great season of fishing and sportsmanship Cant wait til next year already .... Mike Our box Matt's Nice Laker Me loving the beautiful bows this lake produces

Nick, the spread caught about equal amount of fish an seems to be working out well... Walt... I figured that extra spoon was what did it. Congrats on the win and yes see you on the farm pond next Sunday... Real nice Bow by the way!! MIKE. [ Post made via Android ]

Launched out of the south end, the fog was pretty bad so slowly moved out to the drop off and got set up with 12 color,300 copper, down riggers one parked at 65 and other at 51 with cheats, 1 wire at 260 and two rig rods .... Worked the middle heading north with tons of nice mark from 160 to surface but didn't even get our first fish til 7:40, not sure if it was the almost full moon the night before or the recent weather systems???? But once the bite started it was Lakers here and there all day .... We had 3 decent lakers by mid morning so switched the program up to strictly fish for off fish searched and worked hard for one but never got it... Oh well finished 2nd in our tournament with 3 lakers totaling at just under 21 lbs .. What a beautiful morning it was and overall good day of fishing... Mike Great morning sunrise pic box full Box full of Lakers

Decided to sneak out for a bit Sunday morning.. Headed north a bit out of Watkins setup shop on the west side and worked an area I have been doing well at for a few weeks and it was slow, just one little bow on the rigger so made my way over to the east side and ran into some good Laker action on the way over ... Wire fired and man was it a hit it bent the dipsy rod and pulled drag really good best one Ive seen this year Steve grabbed the rod and gone nothing there got the line in and discovered that the fish broke the 30lb leader between the dipsy and spin doctor, must have been a nic in the line ... So got it re tied and sent back down and no longer did I turn around and it fires again this time with about a 9.5 Laker... The rest of the day we picked up a brown and few average size lakers but that was it .... Weeds got really bad about noon and fought them for a bit and then decided it was a lost cause and called it a day .. Overall a nice day of fishing and thanks Steve for going along on such short notice, already have the urge to be back out there... Also included a pic of a Nice King I got Friday out of Sodus.... Great Job and great report !!! Thanks for letting me on board for some great afternoon fishing Thursday.... And Friday and Saturday morning where some great times to be on the water seemed like everything was out looking for some dinner before this front... I like when we have a good group of guys all fishing together in the same area, makes it interesting... Great job keeping those clients happy!! Mike P.S. Did you try the feeding the Seagulls trick again ???
-
Thanks Guys !!!! Fished the next morning in the same area and it had slowed down a bit but the fish where still there .... Went 7 for 10 all landlocks had one good one about 5lbs but the rest where all 2 to 3 lb fish but really fun to watch the girlfriend reel them in she had a great time.... All where on riggers, main line and cheaters, did have one really good smack on the core but nobody was home when i got to the rod...... wires, copper were quiet..... Im at the lake now and IRENE has her rolling out of the north pretty good (20 - 30 mph) so gonna have to get back out there in the next few days and figure it all back out ..... Mike

Wow !!! Awesome job and good report .... Sounds like a great time and yes the three rod rule is a big help with two people on board.. Gotta love those triples and doubles they will keep ya on your toes..... Keep it up !! Mike

What a great night on the water..... We started out of Watkins at 4:30 pm and headed north.... We setup shop and as I was dropping the first rigger in the water BANG fish on , landed a nice landlock about 4 lbs and released and got the rest of the setup in the water and continued on a north troll and not long after the core fires landing a nice little Bow.... The bite was hot from then on til dusk going 18 for 19 with some really beautiful fish... Wires, cores, coppers and riggers all caught numerous fish and we got the Gran slam except I never got a picture of the many Landlocks we caught, oh well it was still an awesome night to be out !!! Hoping for the same in the morning.... Mike

Well at least you saved the rigger... Bases are alot cheaper than new riggers... Sounds like the bow action is heating back up, slowed down a bit with all these fronts that have been moving thru.. Good report and keep up the great work Rabbit.. [ Post made via Android ] -

I have the same problem with the smaller stingers ... Two to Three fish paint goes bye bye... Maybe I will try the clear coat if the people at stinger can't fix the problem... I also have been finding what colors are hot and switching the stinger with a similar O&M 4 and having just as good of luck with out having to worry about paint... Hopefully they will fix the problem at stinger or they will probably lose a few customers .... [ Post made via Android ]
