  1. Hoping a fellow Lou member can tell me where I'm going wrong. I'm trying to get this motor wired up but can't seem to get any ignition. I think I'm missing a ground but to be honest most my experience has been with mercs. I have the harness connected inside the motor and I believe I'm supposed to wire the starter solenoid to the positive lead on the battery Now there's a fuse box with the trim relays which have what seems to be the main power and negative lines. Trim works and there are a black and white wire which I believe are tach wires Now the key is seperate from the binacle control and both have what seems to be negative wires... I connected them together believing this is the neutral safety deal I've tried jumping the solenoid and nothing... maybe I did it wrong but I def. think I'm missing something... any help would be highly appreciated. I think I'm close or something electrical has gone Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  5. So I found an extendable boom and bolted it to the existing boom. If you want an actual extendable boom that's an exact fit they're pretty cheap I believe. http://www.scottyservice.com/downrigger-parts-and-accessories/scotty-downrigger-60-telescoping-boom Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. I just have to say that last year i picked up a 2002 22ft proline walk with a 200hp merc at roughly 3500lbs give or take (no wood), and I could fish just about most days and I fished a lot (Retired Army). There was a couple days I was out and a limited amount of larger boats out there were doing their thing and I just wasn't able to hang, but for the most part been extremely happy with the boat. Used to be a die-hard aluminum guy... still love aluminum but fiberglass allowed me to fish conditions my 22ft Starcraft islander just couldn't handle.
  12. haha... ice out to the 1st Friday in May stoney point for sure for browns, after that, a couple weeks on walleye in BRB, and then I'm out to sea chasing whatever. Thinking about switching it up and searching for eyes a bit longer.

  19. I'm upgrading and selling my garmin 2110 chartplotter. Comes with gps puck and transducer. Should have off the boat by tomorrow. This is 10.4 inch gps fishfinder combo. It seems to work fine for the most part. I used it all last year. When I added a fish hawk to the boat I had to switch frequencies every now and then as the screen would freeze. Id switch frequencies and be fine. If I didn't use the fish hawk... I was fine. Kinda weird just wanted to be up front. $350 shipped OBO Can meet up sackets/ Henderson area Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Ugh.. peanut butter n jealous. I'm just a little too north... funny how an hour commute for a fishing job sounds way more appealing than a desk job... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I had a 22ft hardtop and I put sandbags in the front... but just as skach1 said the hardtop was HOT in the summer and sail like.... eventually went to fiberglass last year and love it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Is nick a member on LOU? Just looking for a contact to have old spoons and lures re-painted. Seems like some quality stuff, something to get me past winter lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I sold my islander 2 years ago in the winter with what I thought was a little gear... (boat was shrink wrapped, thought gear was at camp) Turned out I sold allll my gear... rods n all. I told the guy some gear was in there... wasn't about to try n haggle my stuff back after these guys drove 5 hours or go back on my word. I learned a lesson that year lol... but thanks to Elotsa I was able resupply like a 6-8 rod spread and some gear for a couple hundred bucks... my fishing season would have difficult if it wasn't for Elotsa! Can't wait for next year. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
