  1. I bet you'll see a few come in the river in the next few day. Big rain today. [ Post made via Android ]
  2. Can anyone give me some do's and donts of running 2 lines off one rigger. I know it used to popular back in the late 80's. But I was young anddidnt pay attention to the rigging part. I have chamberlain stackers I was gonna use but any help or advice to avoid tangles is appreciated. Like how far above I can stack from bottom line? Which one should be a long lead? And what happens when a fish hits the bottom line [ Post made via Android ]
  3. I like the run my release above my probe. I've had issues with tangles with it below. So I use a blacks on the cable or a chamberlain stacker [ Post made via Android ]
  4. You should pay attention to your down speed. 2.2-3.1 depending upon how they are feeling that day. But my boat might have a down speed of 2.4 andyour boat needs to go 2.8 to have the same lure action. Basically you'd have to set up a thumper rod andwatch the action at diffrent down speeds. Also you have to do it in many diffrent situations. Like trolling into the wind, with the wind. Running in the ditch, you see were this can get pretty scientific? [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Ive ran most and now only have atommik and big weenie. I like atommiks the best they hold up well. I like the big weenie flashabou flies more and more though. Not a fan of dreamweaver flies. Still have a few howies around. I haven't used the lj fly but if no has talked about it I wouldn't get your hopes up [ Post made via Android ]
  6. No there can be huge diffrences. I have been out this year andmy surface speed was .8 andmy down speed was 2.7 and vice versa [ Post made via Android ]
  7. i have a spoon box, works pretty good, just takes up alot of room
  8. the idea of the snubber was to absorb shock when the fish hit. i used to use them and was told get rid of that and run 40lb test from your diver to your flasher. much better hook up ratio. if its working for you then use it but just try it n oone rod without it and youll change
  9. Not trying to be a smartass or a jerk but if you scrolled down about 3 inches on your screen you will see your same question asked about 50 times in the last week. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. No not needed. Get a daiwa heartland and put a twilli on it. Probally run you 55 bucks tops [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Mexico is combat trolling. Be prepared to pull your lines and turn hard at any time. Love it in the spring but this time of yr bigger boats wont give you a inch. Had a real bad experience there last saturday. Was on a str8 east heading another boat motored into my path. No biggie I start to head se. Ending up having to turn hard and head str8 w. All in about 5 minutes. Yeah wires in my Riggers copper was off the bow of my boat. Ill figure out who that guy was someday. He did it 3 times. It was str8 north out of the point in 144 fow. There has been kings there every weekend. Just some food for thought. I have waypoints marked all over there all with a 100 yds. So maybe you can go play crash course with him. Ill be heading west. Guys aren't so cut throat on the other side of oswego [ Post made via Android ]
  12. The best thing you'll ever do is ditch those balls and go to a shark or torpedo. The diffeence is night and day. Blowback on my probe with a 12 ball was almost 23 ft at 80 down. Went to a 15 lb torpedo and now its like 9 ft. So much easier [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Yes they are but a just had the clicked break on one that is 4 trips old. My sealines are going on 5 yrs with no problems. I do still like those 30's though [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Yeah but get put in 350 fow outta mexico and your like 7 miles offshore. That's a long ways for that wind to move with no restrictions. My advice would be to come up and if its too rough out there stay in the bay and play with the browns. After all this big west wind you shouldn't have to go any deeper than 60fow to find them. Hopefully the kings will come in a little closer too. Heard a report of kings entering the estuary. My guess is all that rain fooled a small pod andthey came in and probally turned right around and headed back out. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. last saturday they said averaging 1 ft and it was 3-5 all day. seen it where they say 2-4 and its like glass. hopefully it calms down a little for sunday trying to troll in 4 footers in my 21 ft boat is a pain in the butt
  16. What did you dislike about them? [ Post made via Android ]
  17. Tom hit the nail on the head. I run blacks realeases and for the probe its on the rigger cable above it and I just hold it in place with a small planer release. If you run the line off the back of a shark or torpedo it will not track right cause you'll be pilling the rear up when you tighten down your rod [ Post made via Android ]
  18. Just make sure you get the keel with have the weight or your board will be diving under waves [ Post made via Android ]

  20. i had a simliar prooblem with my itellitroll. guys on here told me to keep the antenna wet. so i waited til my signal went out and splashed water on it, signal came back. so i take a piece of a towel soak it and put it on the antenna and have had zero problems since
  21. i think we all have done that a time or 2
  22. i wouldnt count on them staying in that close for very long. 2 days of warm weather and that water will be 80 degrees. but i did see that. im just saying as a starting point 75 fow
  23. are those starfires with roller guides?
  24. 75 fow is a good starting point
