  2. IMO the stock drags suck on the Tekota. Really sticky! You'll want to upgrade them. Other than that and the slower retrieve they are nice reels. I did have the window fall out of the linecounter on my 600LC after 2 seasons. On the other hand~the placement of the linecounter on the Saltist is annoying. I run wire on Daiwa sealine 47LC.
  3. I'd go smaller on the reel. 30 size will fill nicely with 1,000 ft of wire and your linecounter will be accurate. I recommend the Saltist over the Tekota. Better gear ratio (faster pick-up) and better drag! I own both reels.
  4. That's a sharp Lund!!
  5. I try to maintain my speed around 2.0 SOG. Planer boards will help you run more lines and spread everything out.
  6. That Arima is SWEET!! Congrats!!
  7. That would be AWESOME!!
  8. Wow!! Some nice rigs~so far!! I'm really impressed by the condition of some of the older models posted.
  9. I hear ya!! The Hewescraft is definetly a huge upgrade!!
  10. LOL! I fished mainly afternoons/evenings last summer and enjoyed less traffic. And calmer seas. The bite was a bit tougher. But i figured out a few rigs that got them going in the funky times!!
  11. Wow!! Some nice fish there!!

  13. What did you get?
  14. Lots of walleye up there! Troll diving stick baits off planer boards and spoons off the riggers.
  15. Looks nice!!
  16. You can buy cutbait at most tackle shops that cater to Salmon fishing.
  17. I like the products sold by Big Weenie and Captain John King. Put a earie dearie strip in...insert toothpick. Good to go! No tuning.
  18. Read this thread: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/topic/40356-meat-rigscutbaitwhats-your-take-discussion/
  19. Contact Finger Lakes Tackle and they can paint you some replica's!
  20. I heard North Bay or the Jewel area. Second-hand info.
  21. I've fished (and caught) for the last 4 years without downspeed/temp. But i just got an X4D and can't wait to fish with it! In the spring/early summer the currents aren't bad and your GPS speed isn't far off from DS (on calm days). I judged my DS by the bend in my dipsey rods and the bubbles (and hum) from my rigger cables. IMO i would buy a good graph/GPS combo before an X4D. You need to know the depth you are at. And you're heading.
  22. That's the only time i've ever had the urge to chum. Although i did manage to hold it down.
  23. Anybody put their hands on one of these yet? What do you think? My question is will a spro swivel go through the hole?
  24. I have one on my 90 hp Mercury 2-stroke. Works great!!
  25. Don't forget to buy some spro swivels for your connections.
