  1. Tried to get out on LO first thing but it was too rough to have any fun so we shot down to the Woodville launch. Set up as soon as we got into 100' of water and trolled North along the East side. We turned around at Vine Valley, then went back up and crossed the lake and just worked that southern portion of the lake the whole time. It was tough to leave the screen we had, but maybe we would have found some hungry fish if we had. We marked plenty of bait with hooks around them, many random hooks, and some bait with no hooks. I think it was the most promising screen we've had while fishing this lake. That being said, we couldn't move a rod all day. We fished from maybe 8 til 1:30 and never had a release. I think that's the first time I've ever been skunked out there, usually we pick up and find we've been dragging a small laker or something. There were only two of us so we ran a 10 color core pulling a mixed veggie, 2 riggers cheated with free sliders, and a wire. Riggers at 50 and 70 (and later 90 as some bait was showing up 90-120), wire at 200 then at 120. We washed a standard size mixed veggie as well as a mini one (not sure what stinger calls these). We also ran F/F off one rigger and on the wire. The other rigger we ran 2 spoons. The spoons we used were NBK, Spook, Wonderbread, King of Sting, Glow Frog, Green Gator, and a Dirty White Boy. The spin doc's I used were hawg wild, white with green dot, mt dew crush glow, globanero, a mt dew crush glow pro troll, and a white crush glow luhrs 000. Tried long leads off the ball, short leads, then really long leads, but couldn't get anything to work. Flea's weren't bad, grass was tolerable, and it was a beautiful day. Took a good nap on the bean bag chair, had a delicious sub and didn't get sunburned or chewed up by flies so I guess I can't complain too much. Well....until I got home and realized that an entire box of Spin Doctors had bounced out of the boat somewhere between Woodville and Mendon along Rt. 64. I had to drive 4hrs more to where I'm working this week so couldn't make the drive back down to look for it. I just hope someone that can use them found them and they weren't pulverized into the road all afternoon. It would be too much to imagine that someone picked them up and I would connect with that person.
  2. I just watched those recently too! Those videos are awesome.
  3. If you have a card the boundary will be on there. The reason for the text was to let you know your cell service was bouncing off Canadian towers, which means higher rates. I kept getting them in the 1000 islands last week and I have gotten them while fishing out of Wilson and even Olcott.
  4. Is this it? If not, this is the one to get! I've never seen the guy in Oswego, but I've seen plenty of people use this one. http://www.cutleryandmore.com/victorinox-forschner-fibrox/hollow-edge-salmon-slicing-knife-p13534?gclid=CMjW6MO34rcCFcmf4AodmzIAdQ

  6. Thanks for the updates. We are out of Ibay right now. Only 1 release so far on a kevorkian down 40 over 120. Heading to 200 but most marks were behind us in 100-140. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Head over to Traditions Archery in Suburban plaza in Henrietta. The best bow on the market for this situation is a Mission Craze or Riot. the craze adjusts from 15-30in draw length and from 19-70 lbs draw weight. It can grow with her, it's very affordable and most Importantly they will set it up properly and be there should you need them in the future for help, modifications or upgrades. 10. Just talked to my friend that fishes that all the time and said the ice is good and the fishing has been good. When I was up there a couple weeks ago with him the giant gills and crappie were hitting real good. Waxworms on a green jig were better than anything. A few small pickerel were caught but mainly panfish.
  11. Its not that uncommon! Late born fawns will often come into estrus very late in the first year if the conditions are right. I've seen some chasing activity in the past couple weeks up here in NY as well. As long as there is enough nutritional value in the food source they are on to support the hormone change, it can happen.

  15. Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I really don't want to try and splice it. In a perfect world I'd be able to find a patch cable of any length that has a male end (like the back of the unit) that I could screw the existing cable on and off of. The other end would be a female end I could fix to the back of the unit. I wouldn't know where to begin to find or even look for a cable like that. I think if there was something like that it would work. The collar on the existing cable is good, its just the part that recieves that collar on the unit that broke. I can push it on there and stuff a tackle box behind it and it will work, but rough days it just falls off. We use the GPS for speed, so it's kind of important.
  16. The black collar shown in this picture (the 7 pin port) has cracked and broken off. Anyone have a good idea for fixing this? I know it looks like it is just a screw in part that could be replaced. However, I contacted Garmin and they said they don't make the replacement part for this so the only thing I could do is buy a new unit. That's not really an option right now. I was thinking about fixing the cable permanently to the back of the unit with some plastic weld but I still need to be able to take it off the dash after fishing. Is splicing this kind of cable to put a quick disconnect in even possible? Any other suggestions? Thanks, Brian
  17. Haven't heard any reports either but I'm sure there will be safe ice somewhere. There were guys out on Honeoye today off of California Ranch. Do you know if Art's is still open or anywhere else to get bait in the area? [ Post made via Android ]
  18. It was a quick fix and only about $15 more than the cap itself. 3 screws, a pair of hose clamps, and a ground wire and it was replaced. It makes it easy when you can just simply remove a panel off the inside wall and get at the fill hose clamps. 10min job
  19. FYI...I had to replace the whole deck fill since the threads from 1978 wouldn't match anything they currently sell on the market.
  20. Thanks! I got one at West Marine last night but the threads don't match.....you'd think that would be universal [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Does anyone in the Rochester area know where I could find a deck fill gas cap like this one? I just need the screw in part....yeah, it got left on the gunwale at the gas station and fell off somewhere down the road I guess I should have screwed the keeper chain back down a long time ago, but I didn't.
  22. Sounds fun!
  23. Awesome, thanks for posting this! I have been waiting for a video to show a bait ball. It would be cool to have a split screen showing what was on the FF at the same time. You know how it is, watching your screen and seeing the riggers go right through a huge pile of bait with no hits....makes you start to wonder what's going on down there. Brian
  24. My normal fishing partner is in the 20' whaler near you, if you get a chance could you hit him up and maybe key him in to whats working for you? He's struggling to get a hit (isn't everyone?). He's probably on ch 73. Boat name is the bahtenda. [ Post made via Android ]
  25. No, I was watching close and as soon as it ticked I knew the depth. So even over 200fow it still would be down only 78ft. [ Post made via Android ] I think he was referring to the slope of the bottom. As in, if you hit bottom with your wire rod (which is somewhere near 200' behind the boat, you were reading the graph 200' south of where the line hit bottom. On that note, unless there is a crazy drop off in Sodus 200' isn't going to make more than a 1' or so difference in depth. That make sense?
