Dont bother with a 17 its not enough gun.22 mag will get the job done if they are within 75 to 100 yrds.I highly reccomend the 22 250 it will put them down at 300 plus yrds and does minimal hide damage with a 45 grain bullet Go with a 55 grain if your not concearned with pelt damage. 22 250 is a great all purpouse gun I like to say if i can see it i can kill it with my 22 250

We hang out in the hardtop with the rear drop curtain down. Its usually about 65 in there. But i feel your pain last year i fished out of my old blue fin that was wide open and i got sick of getting cold and wet. But its well wort it!
