  1. anybody else fishing this?
  2. Isn't the purpose of a Thumper to thump bottom?
  3. the Ipilot replaces the control head, from what I've read it's not practical at all to try and switch back and forth, try googling it and see what comes up
  4. Outboards will extend your season
  5. 20' aluminum deep v with an outboard
  6. Thumper rod is usually a 1 pound ball tied direct to your line
  7. I run longer leads off my riggers on hemlock and canadice, also use a rods length leader of 10# fluoro carbon leader. Leadcore with spoons (Suttons) and spin dr/ fly on 300'copper will get you lots of lakers
  8. Definitely, used a few without and it is not enjoyable at all.
  9. Everyone I know uses Em, however a higher speed reel would be interesting, but if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess.
  10. Penn 309 on a senator roller rod 80# dacron or other super line
  11. As title says looking to buy 3 if possible. 7' 1pc medium action casting
  12. longer shaft will help immensely especially in rough water when the bow is going up and down the motor won't come out of the water and you losing control
  13. Nice I fished from the boat tonight east side got 2 20's back to back and that was it.
  14. They're well fed. On hemlock I don't bother dropping lines until I find good concentrations of fish or better yet bait with fish. Sometimes this means a few miles of searching
  15. No once you install the IPilot on the powerdrive you lose foot petal capability. Terrova you can use both
  16. I'd spend more money for a terrova 55 with the ipilot and 54'' shaft. The powerdrive is controlled by a remote only, terrova you get foot pedal as well as remot. I PILOT link is useless unless you live out in the upper midwest where they have mapping cards to support Link
  17. Post some interior pics!
  18. +1 for seagars they were able to get me parts for my old Jonson, staff has always been helpful with answering questions regarding doing my own repairs on my motors, trident never returns calls or offered to lend advice they just want your money. Even tried buying a new motor through them and they never returned calls with quotes I asked for! End rant
  19. I would avoid trident in honeoye like the plague.
  20. 15mph northwest wind here, gonna be a bit choppy down there I'd imagine
  21. UV can't be charged but glow can, and it's all about the intensity of the light you use to charge, not how long you expose it
  22. Also you could change prop sizes to slow down a bit and keep your rpms up, tossing a five gallon bucket off the back or a drift sock will allow you to run the motor at above idle and maintain a lower speed
  23. If you have a garden hose at home you could run it at home and play with the adjustments until it runs right where you want it too, not a very difficult task just remember where you started off so you can get back to where you started if you adjust it the wrong way. Like I said, there are plenty of small old two stroke motors purring around still
  24. What year/model motor is it? You could most likely do most of the simple stuff at home like changing spark plugs, tuning the carb, replacing lines/filters. Google is wonderful when it comes to that stuff.
