Nice summary Jason. Just one correction - all occupants of a boat must be registered. Rule #2 states this. This helps all the registrants as it builds the prize money which is returned to the winners. Hopefully it'll be as nice as this weekend!!

I guess jigging could be a good option, Les. Have a safe trip out west and good luck on the tuna if you get out. I sure hope the fishing will be good here when you get back too! Be safe!

Got out for a couple hours each day. Started in front of the pump house on Wednesday and had a clean screen so we picked up and headed right to Tichenor. Marked some good fish right off the point in 60-70 fow near the bottom. Just kept at them and finally got a 20'' laker to hit on a Yozuri stick bait. That was all we could do. Didn't have much time today so I stayed right near the pump house. There were some good bait pods and a few fish in that 60 foot range in 60 - 80 fow but they had lock jaw. Fleas are still pretty bad. Surface temp is at 66. Hoping that cooler nights will bring that down and clear the fleas as well. I should get out again next week so I can let folks know what's happening so they can get ready for the Seager Marine tournament on Oct 4th!

Tried again for a couple hours this afternoon from 4 - 6. I stayed in front of the pump house and trolled east - west. Marked some bait and fish and picked up 2 quick lakers right after I started. First one was 3# or so and the 2nd one was 9#. He really wanted to stay down there! Only used riggers and fish hit with 60' of cable. Both were on FLT spoons, the Wonderbread and the Bright N Early. Fleas are still really bad. Beautiful late afternoon on the water though.

Canandaigua 9-15-14 Not a stellar fishing day
Fbog12 replied to Sk8man's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Got out for a couple hours this afternoon and saw the same as you, Les. I stayed north and saw fish and bait here and there, mostly at 40 feet over 70 to 100 fow. Lots of the moss green fleas, even on cables. The wind had let up so that was nice, but the fish didn't cooperate at all! Hoping to get out again later this week. Sure hope things pick up for the Seager Marine tournament on October 4th, but we have divisions for perch and bass as well as trout, so at least there are alternatives! -
Canandaigua Seager Marine Fall Tournament - October 4th
Fbog12 posted a topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Seager Marine is hosting a Fall Fishing Tournament on Saturday, October 4, 2014. There will be 3 divisions (trout, perch, and bass). Top weight in each division will win a $100 gift card from Seager Marine plus 1/3 the proceeds. Entry fee is $20. Details and registration forms can found at Seager Marine website - Seagermarine.com. Fall is a great time for fishing on Canandaigua Lake and the scenery is awesome! Come on out and get in on the fun. -

It was a bit busier than I expected for a Tuesday afternoon! I had fleas also, but not too bad. The flicker line really helps.

Got out for a few hours this afternoon from 3pm to 6pm. Only managed one small rainbow on the FLT Bob Barker Special down 60'. Fished north end near the drop off to German Brothers and only worked riggers. Guess I better try the flasher fly! Not a lot of bait and fish marked only here and there, mostly around the 50' - 60' mark.

Seager Marine held their LUND Owners tournament today. Fishing was a little slower than we had hoped but we got some nice fish and everyone had some fun. First place finishers were as follows: Trout - 7.39#, Perch - 0.45#, Pickerel - 2.27#, and Panfish - 0.81#. Additional results can be found on the Seager Marine website at www.seagermarine.com. We plan to hold another perch tournament in October. This will be open to all.

I was out for about 3 hours on Monday morning and only had one on (that managed to get away!). I marked a lot of bait and fish at the north end around the pump house and German Brothers, but they weren't cooperating. I had riggers and a copper out. The hit came on a rigger at 65 feet. Hopefully it'll turn on soon!

Got out for a few hours this morning up north. Marked pretty good fish and bait in the typical triangle from the pump house to German Brothers and across to Thendara. Landed 3 Lakers off the riggers at 65 over various depths from 85 to 150. Hot spoon was the FLT Bob Barker Special. South wind came up and made things a bit difficult running solo!

Hey Les - I was out on Thursday in that same area and the bait and fish were there. I managed to pick a rainbow in that same size range and a couple lakers a little bigger. All were at 50' on the riggers. The lakers liked the sutton 22 and the rainbow hit my new Bob Barker fingerling FLT spoon. I hope to get out again early next week. Ted

I did not fish the trout derby tandmbait. Unfortunately I had other obligations. Have you fished here since?

Yes - I did miss that sunrise Les. But thanks for the pic. The pontoon was a compromise with my wife. It really does work out well and it's very comfortable. As you say, the choppy days not so much though. It looks pretty nice out there today but unfortunately I have to work at Seagers and watch everyone else out there fishing! I was out as well yesterday and did about the same as the day before. Picked 2 small bows on riggers set at 50 over about 90 on Sutton 22's. They came in the Pelican Point area and then down further near Long Point. Got a bit later start than Les though. Didn't get lines in the water until about 830. I did see Les out there though. Good looking boat!

I hope to be out tomorrow morning as well. I live in Yacht Club Cove so it's pretty easy to jump in the boat and go. I have an Avalon pontoon with downriggers. Maybe see you out there. I seem to do ok on the cross from German Brothers toward Thendara boathouse. Good Luck! Ted
