It is possible nobody on this forum has never hunted there, considering there are so many other options. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Well, I'm going to have to disagree regarding best launch. The state launch ,which is on the West side of the Oak is better in my opinion. There are more launches, and way more parking. Less pedestrian traffic too. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Love the fact that you have a "grip & grin" inside the house. My takeaway from this photo, guy on the left doesn't live there since the pouch is sniffing him out. Dude in the middle owns the house. Guy on the right is that friend that refuses to take his shoes off while in the house. Congrats on a nice trip and thanks for sharing Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I hardly ever catch anything in the evening at The Oak, but I'm not a very good fisherman. To keep your hopes alive ,the Orleans County Derby winner was caught at the Oak in the evening. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
My reasoning is, 30# Bloodruns wire claims to have a "over 40# breaking strength" , so when the fly is 50#, why run anything less than 40# Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Nice. I launched at 7:45. Drove out to 100 fow. Turned around and came right back in. Too much for me. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Minn Kota powerdrive. 60" shaft, 65lbs thrust, 24 volts. Foot pedal included. This unit has never had any work done to it and has never had any problems. This does not have ipilot, Bluetooth, copilot or anything else. Just your basic trolling motor. It has been used very little. Pick up only. I live near Oak Orchard Creek. $350. I use Okuma Convectors but I think Okuma Magda is just as good. I'm not in love with the Convectors but they get the job done. Magda have been solid. Okuma glt rods are good too and cheap. I'm just a guy not a Okuma rep. Lol Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Throw a spoon ( black/white and blueish/green) on the downriggers and call it good. One rod per downrigger on Blacks releases. Get two dipsey rods (size 30 reels) with 7 strand blood run wire. Attach a dipsy on #3 setting with green/white spindoctor and a hammer atomic fly. Set down riggers and dipsey to depth of fish on fishsinder. If you don't have speed and temp just troll as slow as boat will go. Everything else you learn on fly. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I put some electrical tape on the spool then 1000' of wire. No complaints here. Haven't even changed a knot in three years. Knock on wood. Lol. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Born to fish has a sweet boat and caught more fish, but.......I would prefer to fish on Kramer93's boat[emoji3]. Nice job to both. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
