All you experienced brown fisherman out there. Any tips or tricks of the trade that would be useful? Speed? Depth? Color? Leader length? Anything is appreciated.
I'm out of Ollcot. Fishing the spring derby. Last year had good luck first week of May. Can't wait! Just had my base for my planner mast welded after it snapped fishing Erie last year. Anxious to open up the boat.
I'll be leaving the 2nd to fish Friday morning. Have to go to Conneaut, OH to pick up the boat first then to Ollcot. This will be my first LOC I have fished. Have read rules and everything. Dosent seem hard.
Everyone has thier favorite spread that they run. So if anyone has any imput it would be nice. I will be up out of ollcot beging of May. Would it be better to run flasher/fly off riggers or off my boards. I'm going to run 8 + rods this year instead if my usual 6.
My base plate for my planner mast is mounted on the front of my boat. The neck of it broke last summer almost lost the whole thing in the lake. My question is should I try to buy a new one that might work or try and have this one welded.
Thanks,
Topeye
Thanks you. I will be sure to do that. I will most likely fish the opening days of the tournament seeing how I'm limited to what I can fish. Kings are a blast, no doubt about that.
Another thing. I usually run only 6 roads. I'm looking for good setups on how to run my 8 or 10
This is going to be my first LOC tournament and was just wandering if any of you experienced pros had any imput on anything. Maybe give me a heads up on what to expect on the crowd of boats. Just maybe your previous experiences in the tournaments. Is it better to fish the first days or wait till the boat crowd subsides? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you
