This is my last sit for the season tonight unfortunately unless I can get out Friday evening. Overall of the 3 seasons that I can say I really got out and bow hunted hard, including 2 years ago when I also didn't get a buck, this season has been the most frustrating. Shooters staying out of range, does staying out of range to myself completely blowing a 25 yard opportunity at a 140-150 class deer on my second morning sit it's been hard. That being said its still been fun and I love just getting out into the stand and seeing deer and wildlife in general.

I'm thinking that they do like it Rob. Been in the stand for about 20 minutes after about 5 I had a buck grunting in the golden rods so I gave him a little grunt back to see if he'd show his face. No buck in the golden rods came out but a small 6 came in behind me. He left and about 5 minutes ago I had a nice mature buck chasing a doe about 120 yards out.

Thanks for the info guys! I looked at the bolts they're 10.5 gpi 20 inches so 210 grain bolts with 125 grain Rage 2 blades. 335 grains overall. It's what the guy at the bow shop told him to use (bolt wise). Seems light for the speeds they shoot but I don't know much about them. The bow is also very loud I think he's gonna bring it to the shop and have them check it out.

Shot the buck with his Bowtech after he missed for I think the 5th time with his crossbow. We've tried everything to get it accurate and once you're confident in the thing you shoot it a week later it's off again. Slammer chasing a doe as I'm typing this. This is probably my best morning sit since October 16th

A lot of deer movement. My dad missed a doe with his crossbow about 20 minutes later I saw a small buck and grunted him in and let him pass to my dads stand. He's only a 4 or 5 pointer but it's his first buck with a bow. Our stands are only about 100 yards apart but looking at completely different areas.

I saw the big guy and a doe. I rattled about a half hour ago and he came down the hill that overlooks where I hunt. Stopped at about halfway and looked for the fight didn't see it and milled around back up the hill. I've got Hawks and red squirrels around, I see the same fox almost every time I'm out, hopefully some blue jays show up in the morning and I'll be golden.

Well about an hour ago after I saw that buck the wind started swirling and blowing like crazy. Drizzling and cold. My dad texted me and said he was cold and wanted to go. Figured since I'd only seen small bucks and yearlings that the big boys were back in the brush with their does so what the heck I'll get down. I waited for him to come up to my stand and got down. Walked out of the woods and up to the house. Taking our camo off and look up and a big buck is going through the field next to the house with a doe. Same field edge that that small buck followed down to my stand.

I am with you Duckman I generally see a couple mature bucks each year and usually at least one big old scraggly buck. Last year I saw 18 different bucks in bow season, 3 mature and one old warrior. This year I've seen one mature buck, one 2.5 year old and only 5 small bucks. Overall for the season from what I've seen I think more hunters have killed big mature deer this year than in the past though.
