Nice fish!!!! It was definately the day of short bites, missed hook ups. Some due to the hardening of the jaws, I suspect. I heard the waves and water got turned a bit. The next 2 weeks will be interesting as far as staging and inshore fishing. Definately don't want to run past 60' in the morning. Tight lines! [ Post made via BlackBerry ] -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: OuttaLine ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9-2 Time on Water: 6am-12noon Weather/Temp: sunny, 70's Wind Speed/Direction: nil Waves: flat calm to small chop Surface Temp: 72 Location: 1-2 miles east and west of Bear Creek Mouth LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: +/- 10 Total Boated: 4 Species Breakdown: all kings Hot Lure: 42 sec spoon, NBK, white pearl glow SD and blue hammer fly Trolling Speed: 2.7sog Down Speed: Boat Depth: 115-140 fow Lure Depth: 90-115 on riggers, 200'mag diver 250-300' std diver ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Well this day started out like it was gonna be insane. We launched before 6am and water was flat calm...beautiful out really. We had rods set by 6:15 and by 6:30 we were doubled up on the divers. In 115-120 fow...Std dipsy set 250 back with green nuclear SD and green glow fly was ripping out past 550-600 foot of line, when Mag dipsy 180foot back with white pearl glow SD and blue hammer went ripping. So all looked really promising. We dropped the one king that was out 600 foot and landed the other king, a nice 23lb nookie that was my GF's personal record nookie. Over the next hour, the mag diver took one hit and there were 3 hits on the NBK down 90 foot, but landed ZERO. All short hits.....on and gone in 10-15 seconds. We trolled another couple of hours before we had some hits. I did slide out to 160 looking for fish and bait, but it really was all inside 130fow. I finally just kept heading east and west in 125fow marking tons of fish in 90-110 foot of water and kept changing lures. Flasher flies and variety of spoons. Ran a j-plug...all nothing. Managed one 7lb king on the white SD and blue fly....and lost another 1-2 hits on the NBK. Finally threw a 42 second spoon down on the deep rigger and from 10-noon that lure took 3 good rips and GF landed a nice 17-18lb king and then to end the day I hooked into a very frisky 19lb king that fooled me into thinking it was 25+. Ripped line, went deep, ran the surface, ran towards the boat. I babied the fish to try and tire him out....I got him within 15 feet and he ripped another 100 foot off and went down to almost the bottom I have to believe. When he hit the net, I congratulated him, cause he made me work my butt off. It was an absolutely beautiful day to be out there...wish we had landed more, but we were happy! Jay ============

My normal fishing partner is in the 20' whaler near you, if you get a chance could you hit him up and maybe key him in to whats working for you? He's struggling to get a hit (isn't everyone?). He's probably on ch 73. Boat name is the bahtenda. [ Post made via Android ] We saw him next to us. A lot of people out today. Didn't get this msg til now or I would have hailed him. We finished 12 for 17, with 5 salmon over 20lbs, 2 coho, 3 browns and 2 steelies. All fish were deep. 115 and 125 on the riggers and dispy's set 260-300 foot back on mag rings. White green mt dew and blue hammer and white pearl glow with green fly. Riggers were a 42 second spoon and mixed veggie. No sliders, 10 color never took a hit, so we pulled it. We kept the 4 rods at 90 foot and below. Normal speeds 2.5sog and 130-150fow was the best! Hope that helps!!!!! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

1 1 1 1 3 1 1 1 1 3 1 1 1 1 3 Pretty nice out [ Post made via Android ] That about sums it up. Out here now and nothing so far. Trolled from 60fow to 110fow and best marks were in 80-90. Heading back to that. How deep are you? And sorry you lost that beast. Totally stinks!! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

Tough break. We have learned with two on the boat and a monster on that takes u to 1000 feet. Clear all the other rods and go to neutral if u need or chase it or back up to it if you really have to. Sounds like a heartbreak when its Sooooooooo close! But awesome to have a great day like that with your dad!!!! [ Post made via BlackBerry ] -
Nice Brown Theresa......! We finished up 9 for 13....but wished we could have stayed out longer. King bite picked up after 11am....landed 2 nice ones 23 and 24 lbs and had a monster break the wire on the diver rod! All in about 90-105fow....rigger and divers set so lures were in the 65-80 range for depths! [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

Nice meat rig Nick!!! We are west of you off I-bay. Took a 22 lb king in 90 fow off the mag dipsy back 150 with a white SD/blue fly. We landed two small browns off 10 color with wonderbread and have lost a couple slider hits on an orange crush. All marks are 70 to 100 fow.....good screen....45 degree water 76 down. Can't get more bites, but continue one here and there! Tight lines!!! Jay [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
