  1. Is that $10.00 for the whole lot or a piece? If it is the whole lot I'll take em. Jack
  2. Now that's a day of fishing. Nice King!
  3. A definite thanks to all for the input. I'll be out Wed, Sat and Sun so I'll put it ot use and make some adjustments.
  4. Nice King. I am considering docking my boat at at Hughes next year instead of I-Bay. How quick does the depth drop off over there?
  5. Out pre-dawn Saturday and didn't move a rod until 9 or so. Running a variety of spoons and a 6" Ito behind a green SD. Eventually the fly began to get some action 120 down over about 335fow. Ended up 1 for 4, boating a 4 lb skipper and losing a screamer after about 15 minutes. Had to run back in around 10:30 as the fuel tank was running pretty low. I knew I forgot to do something on Friday. The spoons never even had a release. Ran everything from carbon 14, nuclear purple, monkey puke, 42nd spoon and a moonshine fire tiger that had done a little damage during the week as well as a few others. That one fly did everythhing. Sunday was a different story. Best of all I had gas. Started out at 150fow and worked out. Still had good temp at around 120fow down. Had a hammer fly and the same green 6" Ito on the riggers at 75 and 120 and two dipseys out 250' with a nuclear green Stinger and a mag NK. Both dipseys on 1. Not much happening besides one drop so changed a dipsy to 2.5 setting and put on a mag money NK over 300fow.That spoon had to be in 63 deg of water but it lit up almost imediately. Missed a couple of fish and picked up a steelie then Gina got into a 25lber. While the 25lber was being fought, I dropped one fish on the Stinger and landed one on the hammer fly. Picked up another skipper later to go 4 for 7 including one dropped fish that felt pretty good. Amazing how the flies got the only action on Sat and only 2 hits on Sun. The NK mag money took 4 of the seven hits today, one of my personal favorites. It's not always hot, but somedays it saves the day.
  6. I remember the days of combat trolling. We were in a 14' Grunman with a 9.9 Johnson called "Lake Stalker". It was difficult to win a battle out there on that boat. We used to fish 3-5 footers on that boat if that's what it took. Ah the ESLO days. IMO Val LaBounty.
  7. I'm pretty sure you passed by us on your way in. I guess I should have stayed deeper. We started around 530fow and headed directlty back in to 400fow and then shallower. The temps inside of 425fow were 62deg and up. Crazy warm out there right now. I also just bought a subtroll this year and I wonder how I got along without one before. We managed one 6lb king on a spoon and two misses.
  8. We fished about straight out starting at over 400fow and working in. Briefly found some good temp and then lost it. Saw sporadic marks here and there. Missed a couple knock offs and picked up one small king, about 6lbs, on a moonshine 100 ft down. The temp was still 62 deg there. Still better than mowing the lawn.
  9. If things go south with everyone before me I would also be interested in taking a look. Jack 585-370-8659
  10. I'll be out of I-Bay this afternoon as soon as I am done with this inconvenient work thing. Would love to see a report on how and where the action is.
  11. We ran our gear into it back in May as well. Thankfully we were lucky enough to get it all back after 30 minutes of careful manuvering. We actually saw it soon enough but 20-30 yards of leeway wasn't enough apparently. It seems like it moves around out there, I remember seeing it out in front of the bay and east of it this year. By the way, great name Terrapenn. I am assuming you are referring to a rare and different tune.
  12. I went up and took a quick look on Saturday but didn't get inside. I would like to get a closer look. Is there a time I can meet you there? I am definitely interested if the boat is still available.
  13. Due to the heat today I decided to post this report rather that fry on the water this afternoon. We left the bay yesterday a little late, 6:15am or so, and headed to about 75'. Dropped two riggers w/sliders and two dipseys all with an assortment of spoons and headed north. The purple and black went 2 for three on steelies around 35-40 down over 105 fow. I eventually moved out to 200-215 fow looking for something a little bigger. The steelies are great but we got our fill last weekend. Dropped a green and black SD with a 6" green glow Ito fly down to 90' over 205' and it only took about 15 minutes before that drag was screaming. Gina had a hard time getting the rod out of the holder this thing was pulling so hard. It screamed about another 100'-150' off and pop, it was gone. I think the combination of the drag being a little tight, Gina being new to this type of gear and the fact that I didn't pay attention to the lb test on that rod, it was only 17lb, when I rigged it all worked together to doom us on that one. If anyone finds a king with an SD and a fly hanging out of his mouth, tell him he owes me 20 bucks. We did go 120,231 for 120,231 on fleas though. The remainder of the morning was spent battling gear tangles and problems which eventually led to a bar stool and a cold beer. Seemed like there was some crazy current out there, the sub troll was fluctuating by 1.5 mph at times. On another topic, does anyone have details on the Sandy Shootout? I saw the flier online and I know we have to leave from and come back to Sandy, but where do you check in? I think will be launching at the public launch off the parkway. Thanks Jack
  14. What does it have for an engine and how many hours on it? How would I find it at Mike's? Thanks, Jack
  15. That boat has the king mojo workin'
  16. Got the weasel out for an evening fish and finally broke our drought on kings over 2lbs for this year. The screen was full of bait and marks over 100fow. It was the first trip with the new Lowrance. I'm not sure if the old graph missed alot or there were just a ton of fish out there last night. We lost one early but picked up a nice king 65 down over 100 on a blue and green pro king. He was a touch under 27lbs. He shot right accross the other rigger and dipsey and I was pretty sure we weren't going to boat it. Things can get messy on an 18' boat but Donny handled her well. We got the fish in but unfortunately we boated it around 7:30, too late to make weigh in. We were just happy to break the 5-7 lb laker and steelhead streak we've been on. Definitely chompin on the bit now!
  17. I may have an interest. I have an 1984 18' aluminum Blue Fin with a 70hp Evinrude. I don't have pics at the moment but I can take some.
