The width of your beam and how spread out your riggers are can play a part in it as well. flashers specifically spindoctors can cover alot of water and as soon as they cross eachother your in for a mess. I know form experience and it is not fun.

It is illegal to use parts of gamefish as bait. Get caught and your facing a hefty fine. I second rubbing my flies and spoons on fish in the box to add scent.

Your allowed 3 lines per person(licensed). In my opinion not to undermine traveling mans is 24 inches per side. I have seen people run there planar lines of big jon triple trees that are a mere 2 to 3 inches apart from one another. they also make planar board specific line that you can order offline or find in practically any lake side tackle shop. However I know that my father used masons line like your speaking of but it tends to rot out faster. Hope this helps.

Im repairing some holes in my transom that havent been sealed properly before i bought the boat and was hoping to get some answers to how you guys do this. I read some answers on google and boat forums about drilling the hole one size bigger and filling it with epoxy then putting another screw in to help seal it. You guys have any other ways of doing this?

They're also bad a$$ looking. That orange and silver is a mean color combo.

Not cool . Considering putting a battering ram on the rig to smash through the ice and get out there.

Planning on paring the blue diamond series rods with convector reels for my rigger rods. I lookd at the line capacity on both and I know 30lb is pretty much the standard to keep the fleas off. Could i get away with the 20's or should i get the 30's in terms of the reel.

Action sports cameras such as a GoPro and contour Roam are typically what most guys use. They're compact and lightweight and can easily clipped onto a hat, chest pack etc for stream fishing. They also work well on boats where you can attach them to pretty much anything like nets, rod holders, boat tops, etc, and even to downrigger weights using waterproof housing and a custom mount. If u want just surface shots any style video camera will do. I personally just purchased a contour roam and like it a lot better than the GoPro. There's a head band mout for it and it rests on the side of your head as you fish for a point of view shot. It's pretty cool watching a hook set and a big chromer shoot out of the water all over again. Not to mention the contour roams are $100 cheaper. I got mine on eBay for $80 off on a buy it now option and came with tons of accessories including the waterproof housing. Best thing was I only paid $119.99 Good luck there's a lot of options. If your catch and release fishing a single hook increases the survival rate of the fish particularly of steelhead that can be much harder to revive than say a king. Not to say they can't be revived fishing a treble but I would think less punctures means less stress on the fish. [ Post made via iPhone ]
