Awesome! I checked alot of youtube reviews and comparisons with the gopro and I noticed hardly any difference. It deffinetely looked alot easier to carry around as opposed to the go pro. Also read that fish hawk is making a mount you can put on a downrigger weight like the probe mounts. I'm excited Thanks for the input!

fluro leader and spinnys
Rippin'Line replied to steelfire's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Well said. If its a straight spoon then I run 10' of flouro with a 5# less break strength than the mainline. That way if I break off I dont lose all the mono with it. -
flashers what do they mimic
Rippin'Line replied to fast and silver's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I was told that since the fish tend to hang out together it looks like another salmon/trout getting excited such as it would if bait was nearby. So when the other fish come to investigate it gets disctracted by the fly and crushes it. -
There has been a recent advertisement on this sit regarding a contour roam camera that is being sold by fish hawk. I was ready to invest in a go pro but now that i see this thing that is supposedly specifically designed for fisherman i'm debating on purchasing this camera, also not to mention its $100 cheaper with all the mounting accessories a go pro has. It looks legit but I'm wondering iif anybody has invested in this camera yet?

3 divers off one side to me means probably alot of swearing. if its a perfectly calm day with little under currents i see it working fine. But in 5 footers with heavy undercurrents spells disasters and losing a 100 ft of wire or more.

This is true, reason I asked was because the past few weeks we have had a particular color pattern outfish EVERYTHING we put out there. Then one fateful morning a mighty king stole it! Anyways I found it! Thanks guys. And Mortigan I like the idea of log book. Fact is I've already started one. In my later years I would love to be a captain. The learning process has begun. Haven't had issues with mine as of yet. Had it only a couple weeks and hit the water twice. Spin doctors been killing it still for me so I pulled it. [ Post made via iPhone ] -
Never used em before but the more I hear of them not necessarily taking more fish but monster fish what's your guys opinion on certain brands of heads/ techniques. Always looking to expand my knowledge. [ Post made via iPhone ]

Also start setting the outside lines then work in. Unless u have a probe. Then set that a A little below the temp. I do probe rigger, planers, wires, other riggers. Also helps to do a v shape if depth/ideal temp permits. Good luck, leave some screamers for us [ Post made via iPhone ]

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/3 Time on Water: 2 hrs Weather/Temp: 88 Wind Speed/Direction: sw switching to nw Waves: 0 at first building to 1 ft Surface Temp: 72 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown: King, Steelie Hot Lure: Mtn Dew Spinnie/greenhammer glow atommik, and Blue puke board with silver hammer atommik fly. Trolling Speed: 2.1 Down Speed: 2.5 to 3 Boat Depth: 180 to 220 Lure Depth: 120, 100, 90, 80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started out slow straight out the chute marking only a few fish. so we decided to take a north east bearing and picked up a 5 pound steelie on the blue puke board with atommik silver hammer fly about 80 ft down. Gave us a nice aerial show before we got him in the boat for a quick picture and released him to fight again. About a half hour later we picked up a 15 pound king on the Mtn Dew SD and Green/Glow Hammertiem fly by A-Tom-Mik. This fish gave us H&*L. When we first picked him up he ripped out a good 100 ft of line and instead of staying straight out the back he started shooting at us tangling the port side stacker with him. Luckily he didnt get in the dipsy wire. Anyways as I'm starting to untangle the line he got caught in it starts to POUR!!! Right when the first rain drops hit the fish shot underneath the boat in between the rigger line and the motor. Uhoh! We quickly shut the motor off and averted the rigger tangle but he managed to wrapped himself in the motor. By now all He*%L has broken loose and somehow we managed to get the net underneath him and pull him in the boat. Had to cut my brand new 42 second fly off at the leader causing me to rerig it but oh well. Lets just say that fish was not returned to the water . Overrall a decent two hours. Be out for a good 6 on sunday, will post a report after. Tight lines to all. GO GET EM!
