  1. is this boat at Oak Orchard?
  2. Those little dudes holding the big fish are cool. I love the look on their faces and how they struggle to hold them up.........great pictures.
  3. I have a couple of questions about the tournament: 1. The Tournamant Rules refers to a "release form". I am assuming that is the form that says "Fishing contest Entry Blank" Is that correct? 2. For a tie in the "most muskies caught" entry it says to use the point system. 3 points for for 40" and 1 point for each additional inch, then add up all the points. Doesnt that come to the same number? Example below. Two guys catch two fish that equal 90". Using the point system they still are tied. 41" = 3 + 1 = 4 49" = 3 + 9 = 12 Total 16 45" = 3 + 5 = 8 45" = 3 + 5 = 8 Total = 16 PS. I know my chances are slim but I just want to understand the scoring system.
  4. Well it changed again.................this time for the better. Looks like it might be "game on". SUNDAY SOUTHWEST WINDS 10 TO 20 KNOTS DIMINISHING TO 5 TO 15 KNOTS. SUNNY. WAVES 1 TO 3 FEET.
  5. I am going Sunday. It will be my first time on Lake Ontario in my boat. I am really looking forward to it. Just a little nervous about the wind forecast. I really wish it was 10 knots out of the South.........I would feel a lot better. I've been told that Ontario is not Lake Erie and waves don't get near as choppy.
  6. What does everyone think about the wind and wave forecast for this coming Sunday for Western Lake Ontario. I have no experience with Lake Ontario. I have fished Lake Erie many times and have a good handle on what the waves will be based on the wind forecast. The wind and wave forecast for this Sunday is: Sunday Southwest winds 10 to 20 knots. Waves 2 to 4 feet.
  7. Can someone tell me where I bay is? Is "I" short for something?
  8. Thanks everyone for all of the tips and tricks. I really appreciate your willingness to share. This sounds like a blast. Can't wait to give it a try. I am coming in from the West so I am thinking that Olcott would be my best launching point. I hope they have a nice launch in this area and deep enough access to the lake.
  9. Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some information about trolling for brown trout. Based on what I've been reading the pattern is in close to shore in 5-15 ft, stick baits, find stained and warmer water, speed 1-2 mph. I see alot about using down riggers and planer boards. Can I just flat line straight out the back of the boat and run some off to the sides with in line planers? Would I be able to get the baits deep enough or should I add some weight? I've never done this before and looking for some beginner pointers just to get me started. Thanks
  10. This is a nice net. I bought one....................thanks Larry
  11. Thanks everyone for the responses. Come on spring.
  12. Hi all, I am wondering how well in line planer boards work with musky baits. Considering the bigger size of musky baits and the higher speeds while trolling I didn't know if they work. If so, what brand and model do you guys use?
  13. I just bought two of the Tekota line counters. Havnt used them yet but they sure are nice. I've a lot of reviews on line before buying them and they get pretty good reveiws.
  14. Includes head unit, transducer and gps puck. $100
  15. Thanks Joe Just what I needed
  16. Does anyone have the agenda for the Butler Pa show? * Speakers * Topics * Times Is it the same for both days?
  17. I plan to attend the musky show in February at Butler High School. Would this be similar? It would be a haul from Pa. however it might be worth the trip if it offered some more/different than the one in PA.
  18. Hi Larry Any word on the net drawing winners?
  19. Can anyone tell me how I can get in touch with this company or where I can but them?
  20. Larry How much are the nets? How would would someone take delivery?
  21. Hey Dan, Nice fish. Looks like there was a little more lumber in the lake that day than your Lunge Lumbers..................... I am heading up this weekend either Saturday and/or Sunday. I hope some the floating stuff and stained water clears up a bit.
  22. gert9888 Congrats on these two nice fish. The second one looks like its in the high 40s to me. It is nice and fat as well. Where were you fishing and what did you catch them on?
  23. Chad, That is an awesome fall fatty. Great photo as well. Those Lunge Lumbers are hot right now. Ed
  24. Chad and Dan, As you know I spent the day there with a friend and we too had high expectations for the day. The only things that were high was the wind and our dissapointment with the results. We ended the day with a small 31" "ax handle". The fish hit the Lunge Lumber 9" Prowler in perch pattern I took a a tip from Dan on using the drift sock and it really helped to control the boat, slow the drift and keep the bait in the water longer. It was still great to spent on a warm day in November on the water rather than in the office. It just makes me want to be right back out there. Ed PS. It was in the 60's yesterday and tonight there is a lake effect warning for Chautauqua Lake forecasting up to 7" of snow overnight into tomorrow noon.
