  1. Busted our balls out of olcott from 6:30-1:00. Changed everything at least five times and braved the 4 footers and was rewarded with my second skunk all year. Humbled by lake o once again
  2. That's a great day right there kingfisher. Lets hope tomorrow is more of the same.
  3. Thanks for the report. Are u going out in the am?
  4. Anybody have a recent report from olcott or Wilson area? I'm taking 3 new guys out tomorrow for a buddy's birthday. Not sure whether to grind the inside bite for matures or head offshore for numbers.
  5. If u have the old mag 10's I'd use 12 or 13# torpedoes. If u bought the new ones, 16-20# torpedoes or sharks
  6. No autopilot yet. Have to rely on my son and grandad to keep her straight. I booked a trip to Chicago for my wife and I to celebrate her 30th birthday. Bears game @soldier field, sight seeing, and great food/ beer. That'll soak up a few thousand right there.
  7. When it was in winter storage I had it up for sale hoping to get a 19-20 aluminum to replace it. As soon as I took her out I realized I can't sell. I have her set up almost perfectly now and will never get as much boat for the money. Thanks for the compliment
  8. For me a 30 lb silver king would be a mounter. I've caught many over 30 and 1 over 40 in 18 mile creek but since I've been back at the lake fishing the Tyee has escaped me. Browns 15 lbs Steelhead 14 lbs Laker 24 lbs Coho 12 lbs Atlantic any as they are a beautiful fish.
  9. I did one 23# king and lost a very nice brown at the back of the boat in 75 FOW. In a way I'm glad that brown shook off because I'm not in either derby and it looked pretty stocky.
  10. Mag on a 3 out 240 hits bottom at 95' going 2.3 on my fish hawk. This is allowing 5' for the roll of my meat rig as we were actually in 100 FOW. I have done the same however with 220' out. I guess it depends on the currents at the time.
  11. Gill, the temp was def up higher. 50 deg down 45 in 75 FOW in olcott when we finally hit on a mature yesterday. The guys I talked to that were catching, were doing so on steelie programs in the top 50'.
  12. Leave those rods in. This is where extra holders come in handy. I move my rigger rods to the furthest holder out on each corner to open the back up for netting. I only run two riggers though. U should be able to move your center rigger rod over to a holder on either corner to open the back up for netting. With that said, there are some crazy fights that will tangle you up but that's just part of fishing. I just think u might be missing out multiple hook ups by pulling rods every time. When the fish are biting good, I actually go to a 4 rod spread. This allows me to turn quicker without the worry of tangling lines and get back on the fish.
  13. I did the same thing with mags out 240' on a 3 setting and they hit at 100 FOW. 2.5 on fish hawk.
  14. Didn't mark many hooks in there but a lot of bait hugging the bottom
  15. Finally boxed a major in 75 FOW. I was bringing a rigger up and it hammered the white pearl sd and hammer fly. It charged the boat at the surface then ripped out 150'.
  16. Not much to report today unfortunately. Serves me right for taking 3 weeks to get back on the water. Work gets in the way of all my fun
  17. Just did the 85-115 from tower to just past olcott. No hooks, no bait. Headed nw in 120 fow
  18. Pulled lines and ran back in to 150' and setup for a west troll. Not looking good in here either
  19. Another steelie. Lazier spook slider on 40' rigger.
  20. Busy morning in the marina today. 1 for 1 on steel at 200' so far. Headed north
  21. I don't deploy it often but the 500 copper catches fish. However it will take 45 min to over an hr per fish unless its a skippy. Honestly, I'd pick up a 150 and a 300 if u really want to run copper. 150 is great for steelies and browns most of the yr and the 300 gets you down to the 55-65' depth that produces kings.
