I was wondering if anyone had a list of east end of the lake tournaments? I know there is the Warrens tourney and Oswego but are there any further east. I am looking for any size tourney, it doesn't have to be the 5 figure payout type any smaller tournaments will do. I know there used to be one in Henderson Harbor but haven't heard anything about it.
If there are some could you please provide a link or at least contact info and maybe some dates.
Thanks,
Chas
It was a good game I was rooting for the ravens mostly because the 9ers haven't lost a super bowl they have been too. I like upsets like when SU beat Louieville 2 weeks ago.
I just purchased the torpedo temp and speed wire and I was just wondering if I should just drop it down on the rigger and leave it without raising and lowering to prolong the wire's life or doesn't it really matter?

That would be called a canoe!!
Haha
I meant tapered so the top of the transom protruded backward past the bottom of the transom while staying the same width as the beam.

No problem, last summer it was ridiculous how many boats were out there. I counted 45 boats the one day pretty crazy to see boats that many so close all trolling

If you just running stickbaits in the spring for browns you can easily run 3 off each side. I was thinking you were going to try and run these for kings in the summer months. I have a homemade set of boards that probably pull about as hard as the otters and we run 4 lines per side all deep divers.
Spoons should be ran on dipsys or on riggers they won't get down more than a foot without anything helping them. I know there are a lot of guys that run copper off boards so you should be fine with leadcore.
What time of year are you using the boards, spring browns?
I hope you weren't planning on running them in the summer because there is no way you can get down without running lots of copper or leadcore. Not sure about the 2nd keel. I think there have been guys running small dipsys off boards but the bigger ones pull to hard and won't work no matter how many keels you run. You may want to 2 or 4 dipsy rods with spoons and just forget the boards.
I have ran my Magda 30s for 3 years and they are used for salmon, and walleye. All the newer Magda series come with the same drag washers as the higher end convectors and use the same drag system.
I have a beckman and love it. I can reach 8' with that net and has a storage size of just over 4'. It telescopes and has a nice big hoop. Here is the model I bought: http://www.beckmannet.com/index.php?rou ... duct_id=73
I normally make the run from Long point to Henderson trench between Henderson Bay and Stony Island (I think the area you are referring to) on my 23' proline. I haven't had a problem with lake conditions over there because it is sheltered from the north and northwest pretty good. The only part that can get rough is the open area from the mouth of chaumont bay to Stony Island. If there is heavy wind from the Southwest and Dead North there is no way to get out in the trench unless you like to get bounced around.
The king in my avatar was caught at the Henderson Trench.
On a side note there used to be awesome smallie fishing around galoo and little stony.
