No title if it's a NY registered boat. It'll just be a transferrable registraion. Without it you'll have to get a hold of the guy to file for a replacment registration. Bill of sale isn't as important as they go off blue book if you dont have one but bill of sale would maybe allow you to register the boat without the signed registraion maybe. Technically by not registering the boat on your name he could still claim it as his and you would have to somehow prove you bought it which would be very hard if you paid cash. Not a smart move, i wouldn't ever pay for something and not get it in my name. Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

This is the 1st season i was skunked opening weekend. Glad to hear others are catching them but concerning that i may have issues with the boat. I worked three entire bay shallow to deep without catching a single eye. Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Upgraded the mercruiser bravo to hydraulic steering and added my old auto pilot onto my new to me boat. Also replaced bellows, lower shift cable and helm shift cable, gimbal bearing, oil change and filter, added remote oil filter. Then removed all the power steering lines and cooler. Re routed the cooling lines directly to the thermostat housing so no more tearing up my arms trying to reach under the sides of the motor to pull cooling line plugs. I have 2" maybe 3" down the sides of my exhaust manifolds to get to my water jacket plugs. Last thing in the list is a new electric fuel pump and hopefully she is done for the season. Only a few more days until the opener, as always I'm working down to the last few hours on the boat to have her ready. I hope everyone is safe and has good luck. I attached a couple photos from last year with my boys. Granted they weren't eyes but they had a blast. Tight lines Sent from my SM-N950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

So i got the boat for a song and a dance with a bad bravo upper drive and engine. Got the lower unit fixed 2 seasons ago trying to get the engine running right. Welp when the previous owner locked up the lower unit on planning rpm the motor jumped timing with the abrupt stop. Anyway i wasted a whole season trouble shooting that engine to pull it 3 times and just getting it rebuilt the last time. Fast forward to last season new motor new issues. The motor ran great but hot. Almost burned up the boat when the one riser started burning up an exhaust boot. Got both risers unblocked and running decent. Found water in the driveshaft boots. So this season i dropped another $1500 in parts into her in hopes of having a terrible free season. Im not ranting or complaining but hopeful of a easy going boating season with minimal breakdowns. All said and done I've got about $5000 into the boat including the purchase. Long story short 10 days until splashdown. Oh and the boat is a 1998 241 Proline. So I'm adding a sea star system to the boat to replace the power assist steering with a cable. The cable is shot, power steering lines all need to be replaced so im just getting rid of it all. I'm using the 2.4 helm and sea star ram and putting my auto pilot back in (took it out of my old boat before selling it.) Anyone do this swap? Did it meet expectations? I run the cabelas rubber net this is similar but mine has the heavy rubber net. I couldn't find it on their site so they may not carry it anymore. Either way get the heavy rubber net no matter what you buy. I regularly net 25"-30" walleye using the size net I linked below. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabelas-custom-landing-nets Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Anyone seeing any action. I've caught a bunch of perch and every other species trolling but the eye fishing has been slowwww. I've changed baits and locations nothing seems to be firing a rod. Anyone else struggling too? Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I'll play, Suzuki. I'm assuming we are talking 4 strokes. I think there is a reason the majority of the coastal service boats run Suzuki. I've been on boats with every manufacturer I can say the zuke and evinrude motors seemed to be the best running. Hondas burn oil and are dogs. Yamaha are reliable just like almost any new motor all depends of you want to pay for it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Yeah i was thinking 19" or 21". Unfortunately I only get 1 shot at this. Those stainless props ain't cheap. I replaced the stock carb because it was all sorts of messed up from the previous owner. The boat is the 241 so 25' 5". Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Cupping happens from swaying. I ate up a pair of bias ply in the matter of 3000 miles on my landscape trailer. I did 3 things to try and remedy the problem. Im not sure if all of them were a fix our just one. I went up to a higher ply weight rating, from bias ply to radials, and added an anti sway. You can try all but the anti sway on the boat trailer. Re-did the motor in my boat and swung for the fences. Well the engine builder and I hit it out of the park and the boat runs great with a little more pick me up. Right now the motor is running up way higher than it should. I'm looking to get the max rpm around 4700. Current setup is a 14.5x17" 4 blade stainless. It will rev out to 5100 if I let it and 42mph. The calculated prop slip is 23% so I figure going up in pitch will lower slip but thinking bigger diameter will help too. What do you guys think will get me where I would like or close to it. Anyone locally that knows the condition of the ice? I was planning a trip up this weekend but I'm not sure if it will hold together with the high winds the next day or so. Anyone know the status of the ice up there?

How often should I replace my mono? Every year?
Chas0218 replied to Bustersit's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I re-spool by testing the line about 10' from the fluorocarbon to mono knot. If I can wrap a bunch around a screwdriver handle and pull with all my strength and it doesn't break I wait another and check again next year. -
I looked into it for my older 2 stroke. The problem is that you have to actuate the throttle and the mechanical spark advance. It takes a whole lot of force more than those little actuators can produce. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks guys found a local guy that is going to go through and clean the block and inspect it. I tore it all down and happy for me it has stock bore with little to no corrosion in the bores. Bad news is the crank is toast 4 bad rod bearings and 2 bad main bearings. No spun bearings just worn badly. Going with new cam and crank possibly a light boring. It's a 5.7L 350 hydraulic roller block. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I shoot the QAD exodus 100gr. switching from another smaller fixed blade. Both of them fly the same as the field points but both are lower profile blade design. What was the wind doing, what yardage were you shooting from? The larger profile is more affected by wind. I've never indexed my vanes to my broadheads and had very tight groups out to 60 yards (longest I've shot) I'm talking touching shafts and many robin hood arrows. You can try it but doubt that will change anything.
