  1. I always try to change my presentations but end up going back to the tried and true because the change didn't work. I always try to give an effort not just a 10 minute change and back to the old stuff.
  2. If you get a hard pulling rig like a FF then it can pull your weight left, right, up, down causing more blow back along with the possibility of it moving around getting into other lines.
  3. I have actually been using 15 but picked up some 20 about 2 weeks ago to start changing over my rigger rods to experiment with. Yeah there has been a little pucker effect in the past.
  4. So is this when the weight is in the water or sitting free in the air? In the water does it track straight if you turn the direction the weight is pointing? I am thinking you might have a slight current under the boat making it point off one direction if not then you might need a new weight.
  5. Alright after next weekend I'll be up at camp for the whole summer minus the Sodus pro am so let me know. If you wanted to you could bring the motor over tip my place and we could get lengths off mine if you wanted before you cut anything.
  6. That might have been why it wasn't working, thanks for the help looks like I can see the articles and tips.
  7. I'm buying a place in SD! Amazing peasant hunting and walleye fishing. Screw Florida in the winter SD here I come.
  8. Those mink will make a mess of a cottage if they get in during the cold months. I wouldn't advise feeding them around your camp. The cottage we bought had a mink problem and we had to gut it down to the studs and spray it all with kilz paint. We picked up the place cheap enough but man do those little bastards piss and crap a lot.
  9. Ok well nevermind haha thought you were a little closer. I'm from corning N.Y. Which is a short distance from the P.A. border.
  10. You having a lot of break offs with 20lbs?
  11. Yeah I know, the modifications would cost me close to another $8,000 basically for a all new system.
  12. That's not good, there was another member that just did sea cast, I think it was Justin. Where are you located I would love to come take a look at it when you're done pouring it. I am considering doing that on my boat next year/this winter. I need bulk heads and front stringers. I'm lucky my tank isn't sandwiched in foam.
  13. ok gotcha.
  14. I thought AMs can NOT cull. This was right off their rules. Amateurs are allowed to catch up to their NYS legal limit, but no more than a 4 man crew. Once a fish is kept you cannot throw it back.
  15. Is 20lbs. leader too light? I was going to run 20 because I have a bunch already. What size swivel should I run?
  16. That seems to be the consensus, mixed box is really the only way to go. Thanks for the help guys keep it coming, true novice here. We have a pretty good Brown program King is hit or miss depending on the fish that day lakers I can't seem to keep off my gear.
  17. Yeah I know how that works, I was planning on pre-fishing and get the colors worked out. I'll have to have a couple cold beverages to keep me calm. Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about meat and most likely won't be running any. I am really looking forward to fishing for a little money not that I will win any but that would be a plus.
  18. Man I wish she was lighter or I would be jumping all over this. My boat system can only handle 4500 with all gear and fuel. Nice looking boat good luck with your sale!
  19. O I am but not that weekend the wife wanted her countertops installed. Now that they are in I can start to fish. You still looking for that short shaft?
  20. Sent the money in for the Sodus Pro/Am tourney. This is will be my first Pro/Am tourney any suggestions? I plan on pre fishing from wed to fri for the 1k/day.
  21. In this case tracks are probably going to be your best bet. Like Pap mentioned cannons are easy on off but others are a little more involved.
  22. Yeah kind of weird it overheated and throws a rod bearing. 220 isn't overheating by a lot most engines run around 200 I would have thought warped head or something. I have a feeling that the rod bearing was already on its way out. Did you own the boat when it was rebuilt the first time? What happened that it needed to be rebuilt?
  23. My Weim and German short hair are notorious at finding the stinkiest old fish at the boat launch and rolling in it for the ride home.On a side note my buddy soaked a laker fillet no skin in a milk salt brine overnight then grilled it on one of those basket things and said it was better than perch. He perch and walleye fishes and is a decent cook so he knows how to cook fish. Wish I would have had some to try.
  24. I could guarantee they would especially those larger ones.
  25. Yeah they were hit or miss for a few years, I think they might have their crap together now. Their larger reels have the gear driven counters as well but still that same drag system. My buddy bought a couple of their new coldwaters and wow are they smooth. I have picked up a couple Diawa in the stores but just couldn't bring them to the check out. Nice reels but had a bad experience. I do still have a couple of the older DepthMaster 2 that I think are Diawa accudepths and work great for walleye. They were bought 4 years ago I think. Time goes too fast haha.
