  1. If the basic tune up doesn't fix it get a 5 gallon can and some tubing and run 3 gallons of non eth gas and 1 bottle of sea foam. Run it thru the carb, sounds like you could have some build up in your carb. Problem with carbs is when they are tuned for WOT at idle they are usually a little rich which might be what you're seeing.
  2. Sounds like you have my luck...I responded you could check a couple things.
  3. carbed motor or efi? I would throw in a new set of plugs too. Double check your plug gaps when you pull them. Sucks to hear you are missing it, Can you putter out on a kicker and still fish? I did this once when my big motor was acting up.
  4. Gotcha, thanks!
  5. T-Minus 2 days until I will be out on that water trolling for the elusive marble eye! Get ready boys she is almost here!!
  6. Silly fisherman there are no walleye in Lake O!
  7. For walleye I run both, it depends on the situation. If I'm only fishing 2 guys then I run 6 poles with inlines. This coming weekend I will have 4 guys on the boat so I will run the big boards and 12 lines. It is easier to run more lines on the big boards than the smaller ones but maneuverability is horrible with the big boards compared to the little ones. I can make a nice tight turn with the inlines but the big boards get slack in the line and can cause a tangle. The inlines if they get slack in the line they can run over the line of a outer board.
  8. You mind me asking how much he charged?
  9. On my 23' proline with 150 outboard I can run 2 18" bags and at idle I do 0.8 mph with about 1700rpm I can get 2 mph.
  10. I always rinse my hands in the lake water and wipe my hands off good on my boat towel that has had fish slim and guts all over it. I don't generally wash it it just stays on the boat and the rain washes it. Might be why I don't have an issue putting fish in the boat, but I generally don't use any scents.
  11. haha for that area it is. Last year I had a buddy come up from the Catskills to fish some walleye out by Grenadier island. It was west/Southwest wind at 30-40 and 9' rollers. It was sketchy down in the trough you couldn't see any land then on top you felt like you were on a ladder. That was an interesting trip. We did end up catching 1 walleye and missed 3 others before we quit.
  12. I have a raymarine a68, it won't automatically update your charts until you log onto navionics and they update their maps and you download their update. The humminbird system is the way to go and navionics is going to need to change their setup if they plan on people still buying their products.
  13. I think if they are cannon riggers you could fry the board but don't quote me on it.
  14. If you do their live sonar charts when you are in that area it will allow navoinics to update their maps using the real-time data you gathered when running thru the area. I use this feature even tho I don't have the sonar charts on my gps.
  15. The ones I have used ate called sea anchors. I never had an issue but for your buckets this is what I have done in the past. Get yourself 4 eye bolts and bolt them thru the sides of the bucket 1"down the rim attach eyes using fender washers and a extra nut. Take a rope run it thru the eye and tie a knot, do this for both eyes. Take rope on bucket and tie a loop in rope trying to keep the ends the same. Attach rope to the loop and boat cleat done. I ran the buckets without holes but it might keep the buckets from collapsing on you. If the buckets want to collapse take a chunk of wood and drill 2 holes the size of the nuts of your eyes squeeze bucket and slid wood in. If you can't afford the eye bolts run larger diameter rope thru the holes instead and knot the ends inside the bucket. Either way will work.
  16. Yup this or too much disturbance in the water when running.
  17. I will be up this friday to button up some things on the boat, looking forward to fishing with my buddies. The anticipation is almost as bad as deer season opener, x-mas doesn't hold a candle to this!
  18. Should be better than last year, it was still really cold in the bay last year's opener. Good luck out there!
  19. 16lbs. Troutman torpedo weights for anything over 30' . 10 lbs. fish weights anything less than 30'
  20. Yeah it's tough for me to kill a opossum when I see them for that reason. I don't like them because they get into turkey nests but eat ticks.
  21. A little AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Thunderstruck, and my favorite Back in Black. If that doesn't work ZZ Top sharp dressed man and Genesis I can't dance.
  22. Hat liner
  23. I never had one break it is the locking mechanism that holds the rod vertical that strips out.
  24. Dirty pink panties
  25. I use one of the stainless panther mounts and take it off every time. I don't know if I need too but is a nice peace of mind knowing it isn't bouncing around or skidding down the road.
