  1. Yup
  2. Start shallow 10-15 fow and work deeper.
  3. Looking forward to the webinar.
  4. Anyone remember those wiley's bait file box. My dad still has one I wishes he had bought about 10 of them at the time.
  5. My goodness the Okuma rods are only $35/ea. and I have abused mine.
  6. That's about an 8 mile ride by boat. Stay in the harbor until you need to cut out towards black river if it is rough. If there are SW winds don't even consider coming out of the Henderson harbor. I have been out in front of the harbor in SW 20mph-30mph talk about a wild ride! I think they were 8'-10' lets just say I could see land then it would disappear for a moment then back again all in a following sea.
  7. Do they both have a timing belt?
  8. If they say too many hours then they don't have a clue what they are talking about. Many motors can go 2000+ hours. My 1988 2 stroke outboard has well over 2000 hours on it which is pretty unheard of for a 2 stroke.
  9. Go with great lakes planers stuff reasonable shipping and 100% adjustable.
  10. Yeah I'm looking for the deep divers even the long shallow divers. I got the image off ebay I think. I found some on ebay a while ago but they were in europe and seller wasn't willing to ship to US.
  11. Here is a picture.
  12. You and me both, I have tried for years to find them.
  13. Is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
  14. More RPM's equals quicker wear. Now if you only run an engine at idle/low RPM the rings will wear the cylinder walls to a certain area on the engine the moment that engine see's higher RPM you could crack/break rings because that piston is actually moving further up the cylinder (rod stretch, upper and lower rod end play, piston pin play). I would run the engine how it was meant to be ran (cruising RPM) that will get you the most life out of the motor. Running WOT all the time will surely wear the engine out quicker as it is rotating more forcing the piston up and down the cylinder bore more. Its a bit of a double edged sword. Also car engines utilize a transmission which allows the engine to be ran at a more constant lower RPM. Boat engines take a beating no matter whether they are a Inboard, outboard, or I/O, they are usually ran at the upper end of the RPM then shut down quickly (4000 rpm to idle) where a car engine is ran at the lower end (2000 rpm to idle).
  15. I ran them for browns and they worked, it split on a 11 lbs. Plastic bag full of water.
  16. Here is the link to the bay/sea star linkage arm. http://www.iboats.com/Trolling-Motor-Tie-Bar-Kit/dm/cart_id.911686139--session_id.027242766--view_id.49403
  17. Here this will let you put one of those ends on the connecting arm. http://www.iboats.com/Hydraulic-Steering-Motor-Link-Adaptor-Kit-Panther/dm/cart_id.911686139--session_id.027242766--view_id.858816
  18. That is why you leader down.
  19. I agree I think you are right. Mine are facing up.
  20. Here is a link to the one I used, I couldn't remember the name of it. http://www.iboats.com/Kicker-Motor-Steering-Connector-Kit/dm/cart_id.911686139--session_id.270533095--view_id.37928 This is the one pictured above. If you scroll down you will see panther makes a L bracket to adapt the hydraulic steering to your kicker. http://www.iboats.com/E-Z-Steer-Auxiliary-Outboard-Steering-Systems/dm/view_id.38357
  21. I used 2 large band clamps some rubber, and some straight aluminum stock to make my mounts and wrap around the mid section of my large outboard and my kicker. I don't have any pictures I will try and find something similar. It looks like the photo below but mine is around the mid section just under the cowling.
  22. I never had one of the depthmaster rods snap but did have one split. I think it might have been from my buddy dropping it on the aluminum livewell. Those rods are made from a carbon blank so they aren't as rugged as the ugly sticks or okuma classics. Legacy had some 8'6" okuma glt in the classified section for $20/piece.
  23. Is there a problem with the website I haven't been able to access it by phone or computer?
  24. Thanks, that is the one I was referring to.
  25. Your best bet is to look at a thread by yankee troller he has a breakdown of the setup he uses and how different settings affect the sonar differently.
